  • Girls Room Idea | Savannah’s Girls Room Sources

Whether we know it or not, our kids are always watching us. I learned this the hard way when I walked in on my girls with paint brushes in their hand about to paint over the wallpaper! They wanted to update their space and took it upon themselves to pick a color from the garage. We were minutes away from a total disaster. I was telling Mallory about this and she had the great idea to have them take our online decorating course, Classy Clutter Decorating Academy before they picked out anything for their room! So, that was the deal. They had to take CCDA before they could decorate their room. Here was their room before we redecorated! You can see the full room reveal here! Ready for the final reveal?? • My NEW windows from Cougar Windows and Doors!

This post is sponsored by Cougar Windows and Doors. As always, all opinions are my own. The one universal trick to enhancing any space is…. NATURAL LIGHT! Don’t get me wrong, I know that it isn’t always easy to come by. If you don’t have windows, it’s hard for the light to reach every inch of your home. In my opinion, a light and bright space elevates any design which is why I have tried to design to maximize light! These french doors were here when we bought the home and it was one of things I loved most when we did our first walk through. I knew these babies would be here to stay! Wondering about the stairs? Yeah….they actually lead NOWHERE and this is why... BEFORE: AFTER: SILVER | BLUSH | BLUE vintage sofa | light | acrylic leg sofa | rug Cougar Windows & Doors to the rescue! The wall space above the doors in pretty large which makes these doors appear smaller than they actually are in real life. When Cougar Windows and Doors reached out…

  • The Stairs That Lead to No Where

One the top questions we are asked about my house is.. Why don’t you ever show the upstairs? What is upstairs? Do the stairs lead to nowhere? We have stairs that lead nowhere. And here’s why…. Originally, the stairs lead to a small loft that we used as an office. However, it was not really being used because it was sooo hot up there. It had a very dramatic slanted ceiling and it was too small to be really a playroom or a bedroom, it was used mostly as storage in our home. More about this space linked here! vintage sofa | light | acrylic leg sofa | rug The artwork Let’s talk about this artwork going up my stairs. So I really loved the idea of had a really large picture frame but a small opening for a picture. Everywhere I looked I could not find exactly what I was looking for. I went to Michaels and I found this 24×36 inch frame and they also had uncut mat board. I went home and used a knife to cut…

  • Teen Room Idea | The Presidential Suite

This post is sponsored by Behr Paint Company. As always, all opinions are our own. Certain moments hit you as a parent when you realize that your kids are growing up. They say “the days are long, but the years are short” and man, I’ve been feeling that more than ever lately. My oldest son, Carter, has been brainstorming for months about what he wanted when we tackled his room refresh. For the first time, he wasn’t initially pulled to any characters, cartoons, or movies. I think he realized that he wanted something more mature instead of a theme that wouldn’t fit his interests a year from now. We needed to think of a teen room idea. Cue the tears! (It’s fine, I’m fine!) Carter has developed a passion and interest for learning about American history. When I told him about this idea of an Old Glory / Presidential Suite theme, he was ALL about it! Where the inspiration came from It was this framed artwork of George Washington that I found while thrifting one day with Savannah that sparked my inspiration for…

  • Coastal Bedroom Makeover

This post is sponsored by Walmart. As always, all opinions are our own. BEDDING: Beddy’s Nautical Navy Since moving into our new house, our youngest son’s room has been lacking the attention it deserved. I have been anxious to give his room a full makeover. I wanted to create a space that reflects his personality but will also grow with him as he gets older. These toddler years don’t last nearly long enough! Coastal / Beach Decor Bedroom Ideas Coastal decor is beach decor. A common misconception is that Coastal Style means nautical. Anchors and rope, nope. While those things certainly work, Coastal Style is so much more. It typically features earth tones, a variety of blue tones, usually jute and rope textures and that’s exactly what I wanted. We hoped to create a summer by the lake vibe and included a few animals to keep it feeling appropriate for a toddler but also a space that he can grow into. I love that we were able to create a cool, crisp, beachy feel while keeping it age appropriate. I am loving…
