  • Our Traeger Grill Story: Is it ACTUALLY worth it?!

The holidays are coming up so fast – is a Traeger Grill on your family’s list?! Can I admit something? I’m not sure I’m entirely ready for that! I love the holidays so much, but if you’ve been hanging out with me on Instagram stories, you know that my guest room flooded this week! As you can imagine, that is taking up so much of my time right now. I’ve been hearing from friends and family that Christmas gifts are going to take significantly longer to ship this year. As if I needed something else extremely urgent added to my list! I’m trying to get ahead as much as possible and with that in mind, I wanted to share about one of the best gifts of family has ever purchased — our Traeger Grill! I’m sure you’ve heard of the Traeger by now, but to save you the time. You need one! We renovated our backyard a few years ago (see the reveal post here!) and we have enjoyed so many Traeger Grill meals around this table. Say goodbye to…

  • How to Add Color to a Living Room | DIY Wood Trim Accent Wall

This post is sponsored by Behr Paint but all opinions are my own as always. My living room is such a special place in my house. Right when you walk in, you get a stunning view of our floor to ceiling brick fireplace. To your left is a staircase lined with photos that make me smile every time I see them. The openness of the room is perfectly made for gathering. It is the halfway point in my house that separates the bedrooms from the kitchen. We spend so much time here as a family! Where We Started When we first moved in, we immediately removed the wall the separated the dining room from the living room. This area has had the biggest change since we first moved in! Added new flooring Painted EVERYTHING! Updated the fireplace with an overgrouted look Installed new windows Just last week – my living room looked like this! While our changes were big, most of them happened years prior and I have been ready for some change. Actually, I was ready for COLOR! Prepping…

  • Permanent Outdoor Christmas Lighting! | AZ Trim Light Review

Once September hits, I’m ready for fall and all things HOLIDAYS! This time of year feels like my decorating Superbowl. Halloween is right around the corner and before you know it, it will be time to break out our trees, wreaths, and outdoor Christmas lighting! You can see last year’s setup right here! Every year, Kyle and I get out the ladder and manually hang our outdoor Christmas lighting for the season. Then, on December 26th, we have the dreaded task of taking all of the lights down and putting them back into storage. Not this year because we officially have custom permanent exterior lighting! AZ Trim Light came out to our house last week to install our permanent lighting system that is invisible during the day, but creates a for custom lighting effect at night! We can control every single setting right from our phone. This is going to be such a game changer for us – not just for the holidays – but all year round for game days, birthdays, holidays, or any time we are entertaining. How…

  • The Girls’ Closet Makeover! | The Container Store Closet Elfa System

My two girls have shared a room since…forever! They are turning into teenagers before my eyes and I’m enjoying every moment with them! We recently did a complete redesign to their room which is was one of my FAVORITE #savannahsmodernranch projects to date! You can check that out here. What we didn’t show you is that their closets needed some major work! Before our new setup, they each had one small dresser in here which just wasn’t enough. Shoes and clothes were all over the floor and there was no system in place to keep in organized. With school in full swing, we knew we had to make a change. Our first (and only!) stop was to see The Container Store closet systems! What The Container Store Closet system is this? I took the girls to see The Container Store closets so they could see first hand what the closet options were. Very quickly, we landed on the Elfa system because we could customize the drawers and shelves for their space. There were so many great options to choose from,…

  • Painting a Master Bedroom

Master Bedroom Reveal-  Tone on tone paint This post is sponsored by Behr Paint but all opinions are my own as always. When we decided to refresh our master bedroom, I was really wanting to lighten up the space a bit but also have it feel moody and cozy. Painting the master bedroom was the best decision we made! I have been loving the tone on tone look and I definitely wanted to do that in the space to help accomplish my vision. One of the easiest and most cost effective way to transform a space is paint. That is exactly where I started. Paint colors I used the BEHR MARQUEE® Interior Paint because of its one coat coverage and superior durability [JM1] . For all of the walls I went with the color Plum Taupe N130-4 and for the doors, baseboards, trim and ceiling I went with  color Mystere N130-5, both from the BEHR MARQUEE One-Coat Color Collection. How did you apply the paint? We have a very detailed accent wall (the tutorial HERE ) and box trim around the…

  • DIY Window Mullions | How To Add Grids To Windows

Get ready for the best hack for DIY window mullions! Over the last year I have completely fallen in love with black grid windows (also called window mullions!) When we moved into our home, it already had these stunning french doors that we painted black. Then last year, we worked with Cougar Windows and Doors to add the black mullion windows above the french doors which changed the space SO much! The Best Product for DIY Window Mullions Last week, I watched Mallory add faux grids using vinyl stickers and I knew I had to give this a try in my kitchen! Mallory’s mother in law has a vinyl sticker shop (Cali Mom Designs) and was able to make the perfect shape for this project! BEFORE: AFTER: This project turned out to be so simple! All I did was measure to find the center of each window, then marked the grid with a dry erase marker. I used a level to make sure I drew a straight line! I decided to do a diamond pattern on the top to match…

  • How to Make Faux Floral Arrangements

There is nothing I love more than fresh flowers on my entry right when I walk in. But let’s be real – fresh florals aren’t always a priority in the budget. I was set on putting together a faux arrangement that I could keep in my entry for a few months. After trying out a few different arrangements, I finally found a system that I love and I am so excited to share this tutorial with you today! Where to Get Good Quality Faux Florals I get my faux florals at Hobby Lobby or Micheals! I have also found some good ones on Amazon. However, I prefer to see them in person since the texture can be tricky. It is important to me that they look real! Before I went to the store, I had a color scheme in mind. I went around the store to pick the florals I wanted. Once I had a few, I held them all in my hand to make sure the colors looked good together. ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE…

  • How to Build a Wood Table | Q&A With Kyle!

Did you go off of any plans? Yes! We built the table roughly based on these plans from Shanty 2 Chic. We customized the design a bit but these are great plans to follow! What type of wood did you use? For this table (and what I would recommend anyone use) is select grade pine for the top and douglas fir construction lumber for base. We purchased all of our lumbar at The Home Depot! What are the dimensions of the table? The top is 120”x44”. This is a bit bigger than our last table and it fits the space perfectly. How much did this cost? I looked at our receipts and it cost us about $700-$850 in supplies for this table. This includes the lumbar and the stain. We had all of the tools necessary to complete this project on hand but tools would add a significant cost if you don’t already have them. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can rent tools from The Home Depot! We have done that for tools we don’t use…
