  • How To Use A Caulk Gun

I learned how to use a caulk gun at the beginning of my journey with DIY projects. And let me tell you – I’m SO glad I did! When you attach two pieces of wood together, for example, attaching a baseboard to a wall, you want them to seamlessly come together without any raw or uneven seams. Wood naturally has a curve to it which prevents it from attaching to other materials evenly. How do we fix that? With caulk! If you’re new here…Hi! I’m Savannah. I’m the owner of the blog and business Classy Clutter. I’ve been a DIY and Design blogger for 10+ years. My husband Kyle and I are currently renovating our modern ranch in sunny Mesa, AZ with our four kids! To check out some of our favorite projects, see the links below! Our kitchen remodel! Kyle BUILT this dining table! My latest project: DIY Window Mullions! Caulk is a super important tool for just about any home improvement project and one I’ve gotten familiar with over the years! It is actually very easy once you…

  • DIY Window Mullions | How To Add Grids To Windows

Get ready for the best hack for DIY window mullions! Over the last year I have completely fallen in love with black grid windows (also called window mullions!) When we moved into our home, it already had these stunning french doors that we painted black. Then last year, we worked with Cougar Windows and Doors to add the black mullion windows above the french doors which changed the space SO much! The Best Product for DIY Window Mullions Last week, I watched Mallory add faux grids using vinyl stickers and I knew I had to give this a try in my kitchen! Mallory’s mother in law has a vinyl sticker shop (Cali Mom Designs) and was able to make the perfect shape for this project! BEFORE: AFTER: This project turned out to be so simple! All I did was measure to find the center of each window, then marked the grid with a dry erase marker. I used a level to make sure I drew a straight line! I decided to do a diamond pattern on the top to match…

  • How to Make Faux Floral Arrangements

There is nothing I love more than fresh flowers on my entry right when I walk in. But let’s be real – fresh florals aren’t always a priority in the budget. I was set on putting together a faux arrangement that I could keep in my entry for a few months. After trying out a few different arrangements, I finally found a system that I love and I am so excited to share this tutorial with you today! Where to Get Good Quality Faux Florals I get my faux florals at Hobby Lobby or Micheals! I have also found some good ones on Amazon. However, I prefer to see them in person since the texture can be tricky. It is important to me that they look real! Before I went to the store, I had a color scheme in mind. I went around the store to pick the florals I wanted. Once I had a few, I held them all in my hand to make sure the colors looked good together. ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE…

  • How to Install a Door Knob | Schlage Review

Like everyone else, when we moved into our new home my project list grew to a MILE long (and still is! haha). Since the beginning, we had to prioritize projects, which is why we chose to tackle some of the huge renovations first, like filling in our sunken living room, updating our flooring, and eventually remodeling our kitchen! While the large projects definitely make an impact, it’s the details that bring the house together and make it look complete! Why We Are Updating our Hardware One project that we never got to? Making sure we had matching hardware throughout our house. We had a lot of mixed metals and styles going on and the inconsistency room to room was driving me mad! It looked inconsistent. Of course, we are using Schlage! In my last house, we had upgraded the hardware to Schlage because the contemporary designs brought that extra level of sophistication to the interior. Now that I know the quality and beauty of Schlage, I have been so excited to do the same with #savannahsmodernranchhouse! We have their newest…
