  • Our closet makeovers with The Container Store and HGTV Magazine

Our closet makeovers with The Container Store and HGTV Magazine We’re so excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with The Container Store to give some of our closet makeovers! This was SUCH fantastic timing because our closets were a mess. I am an organizing junkie but after moving our 4 boys into one bedroom, the clothing and organizing situation was a bit out of control. Before The Container Store came to the rescue, we had dressers stacked up on each other in this pink wallpapered closet. Not ideal for my little boys. Oh, we also had half of the clothes in the playroom. Again, not ideal. The day before the amazing installer from The Container Store came to my house, we removed the pink wallpaper and repainted the closet to match the boys’ bedroom. We also removed the doors and will eventually install French doors to the space but now that the closet makeovers looks great, I’m not in a hurry to hide it with doors. The Container Store installed the elfa Custom Closet system for my boys. I am literally shocked…

Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover

This post is sponsored by Persil®. All ideas and opinions are our own, always! For Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover. I am so excited to finally reveal my laundry room makeover. I have had it semi-done for months but I finally put the finishing touches on. Let’s journey back to where we began… This makeover was relatively easy for the result! Like a little effort went a really long way! First, I painted the walls… right over the wallpaper! We plan to shiplap this room soon so I didn’t want to go through the trouble of removing the wallpaper. I sanded the seams and tears in the wallpaper and painted it all a super light grey (almost white!) The paint color is Behr Silver Dust. I added shaker style trim to the cabinets and painted them white. I will eventually replace them with new cabinets that go up to the ceiling but these work great for now! I removed the old vinyl floors and replaced them with my favorite Thirties Vintage Tile. Its porcelain that looks like hand painted cement…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: DIY Pantry Build and Reveal

Today’s post  DIY Pantry Build is a favorite of mine for several reasons! 1. It added SO much function to our kitchen and our lives and 2. I LOVE how organized and how pretty it is! When we moved into our home this summer, there was no pantry. Whaaaat?! Not gonna fly. I knew this when we bought it, obviously and had grand plans of making my dream pantry.   My old house had the most incredible pantry and is still a favorite on the blog and on Pinterest. Side story: I met this girl the other night and she was asking about our home renovation since she is doing one too. Then, I pulled up a photo of my kitchen progress and she saw my glass jars from my previous pantry makeover and explained that she saw and saved the same jars in a pantry on Houzz. I mentioned it could’ve been my last home and she pulled up a screenshot on her phone and it was my house! What!?! So crazy! It was quite the conversation piece since we…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Garage Makeover Progress and Getting Organized

When you’re tackling a home renovation, the garage becomes Grand Central Station and you spend a LOT of time working in it. We found ourselves constantly going in and out of the garage making cuts with various saws, grabbing supplies, recharging tools and everything you could imagine. We decided to tackle the garage makeover first so we could organize our tools and DIY supplies so we weren’t digging through boxes throughout months of renovation. Here’s what it looked like when we moved in, sans 1 million boxes that got loaded into the house. Oh boy! See, chaos. I needed a way to organize all of my stuff and have the garage function. There were several random cabinets on a couple walls in the garage so I rearranged them onto one wall so it made more sense. I painted them white so it felt brighter and a little more updated. I created a little desk area and used a sheet of melamine on top to create a table top. I installed a peg board to hang tape and tools and put shelving by…

  • Cleaning Tips for moving and an announcement!

Hi friends! Mallory here! Well, we are officially moving! My husband accepted a job in Prescott, Arizona, about 2 hours from where we currently live in the Phoenix area. We are in escrow on our first home in 10 years! We have been renting during this very, very long school journey and we are finally ready to stop renting and get into our own home! I’m 90% excited, 10% terrified. When I’m stressed, I clean. Today I’m going to share my favorite cleaning tips for moving out of your old home and into the new one! This post is sponsored by Mr. Clean and Swiffer. All opinions are 100% mine. I’ll be the first to admit, buying a home is insanely stressful. We looked at approximately 1.2 billion homes online before actually walking through them with our realtor. I’d have to agree that a huge turn-off is walking into a home for sale and finding it filthy. I can look past carpet, paint, cabinets, etc but when a house is dirty, it makes you wonder if the homeowner took care of…

  • Summer Prep has begun!

This post is sponsored by Persil ProClean. All ideas and opinions are my own and in 100% honesty. You guuuuys, Summer is almost here! Although it feels like it already arrived in Arizona, our kiddos have 2 more weeks of school then it’s sleeping in, movie marathons, swimming and BBQs all the live long day! We are so ready for it after a long school year! This week I’ve been slowly getting ready for summer break and digging our “summer stuff” out of storage and getting everything ready! Summer prep around here includes dusting off our camping gear, marshmallow roasters, grabbing some new swim toys and pool floats and washing all of our picnic blankets, swimsuits and towels that sat in storage for the past 7 months or so. Every time I get them (or anything else for that matter) out of storage, it always has a funky, stale smell. I wash it before I store it but somehow it doesn’t feel the same when I get them out of storage! Remember my “Summer” bin in my recent garage makeover?…
