Hi friends! I’m finally sharing another room reveal of the new house! I am so thrilled with how this room turned out.

When we moved in, the room was a big, blank slate. It’s a huge space which is awesome for our family but hard to decorate!

When we moved in, I could just see so much potential for the space. It needed a little updating (ceiling fan and electrical outlets/switches) and some color. You know we love color here at Classy Clutter! *wink* We decided to partner with our friends at Living Spaces and I knew exactly what I wanted for the space.

Must haves:

  • Comfortable, Durable sectional sofa (recliners preferred)
  • Coffee Table with storage
  • TV credenza with storage
  • Colorful rug and accessories
  • Bonus: Accent Chair(s)

When I decorate a space, I always choose the “big” furniture first and that usually inspires my color palette and makes choosing the accessories and decor much easier.  I started by visiting my local Living Spaces and literally sitting on every sofa, couch, recliner, chair in the store. Since this is our main TV area (we don’t have one in our main level living room) I knew the sofa we chose had to be super comfortable and husband and kid approved. We fell in love with the color, fabric and comfort of the Renaldo 5 piece Power Reclining Sectional.

We ended up adding one more armless recliner to one side to make it a little bit longer on one side for our rectangular room. Now this sectional has 2 power recliners, two manual recliners, 1 regular chair and one corner chair. Oh, PS. it also charges your phone with a USB cord. Awesome, right? We can fit SO many people on it and it’s super comfortable for our family movie nights, football games, etc.

For the coffee table, I wanted something with both style and function and I loved how the Abby Cocktail Table fit the design style I wanted and had a shelf and two drawers!

Our tv is a 75″ so I knew finding the perfect TV console may be challenging. Thankfully, I fell in love with the Bale 82″ Tv Console from Living Spaces and it fit perfectly. It was two sliding doors to hid all of our tv components and two drawers for extra storage. This was the piece that really inspired the rest of the design. I love the warm wood and white lacquered sides and top.

The last “big” piece I wanted was a comfortable accent chair. I fell in love with this mustard  yellow chair that I saw in the store. It was on clearance and is no longer available but you can get this similar one.

Designing around a tv (especially a huge one!) can be difficult. Since this space is where we watch most of the television in our house, I wanted it to look intentional and design around it. I decided a gallery wall featuring some of our favorite things would be perfect for this large wall. Every piece on the wall has purpose and meaning for our family and I really love that.

This hallway goes to our kids’ bathroom (left) and kids’ playroom (right). I wanted it to feel like a part of the main family room so I added wallpaper, a new light and our Family Proclamation to that little space.

The desk area is almost done and we will be adding some computers, a little more decor and possibly new chairs in that space soon.

Our family has used this space so much already and I am so excited for the memories we will make in this space. I love the personality the space has and it really feels like it reflects our family.
