DIY PVC Backyard Water Park

We don’t have a pool but here in AZ we need some water fun! I have seen some PVC water sprinklers before, but the husband and I wanted to take it to a whole new level. For around $30 we were able to create this water tunnel that will keep us cool through out the summer.
Kyle, my husband used:
100′ of 1/2″ Schedule 40 PVC Pipe
1- 1/2″ solvent by 3/4″ male PVC adapter
1- Brass 3/4 female N.P.T. by female hose bib adapter
7- 1/2″ PVC Tee’s
10- 1/2″ PVC 90’s
2- 1/2″ PVC 4 Way Tee’s
Clear PVC Glue
PVC Pipe Cutters
Teflon Tape
Tape Measure
Drill with 5/16″ drill bit
The 100′ of pipe may be a little more or less than you need depending on how high, long, and wide you choose to make the sprinkler. Its always a good idea to buy a few more of each fitting for mistakes and any changes you may want to make.
My girls and all the neighborhood kids are having the best time with this new toy! This project took about an hour total to put together and then an hour for the glue to dry!
Everyone needs to build one of these!
Enjoy!

so nice and funny..

I am a new follower, I just found your blog through Pintrest. This is an awesome idea! I can’t wait for my husband to get home so I can show him and we can hopefully get started on it soon 🙂
woah! that looks like so much fun!!! Can’t wait till it gets warm enough to do that here!!
I too live in AZ and feel your pain! Unless it is around water in the summer it is impossible to be outside. This is very clever!

What a GREAT idea! Very clever idea.
Love this idea. Do you have a pump attached somewhere, or do you just have great water pressure? My sister and I want to make one for all the kids, but I’m not sure that we can get the water “up” the pvc!
What a fun idea and so clever! Perfect for keeping the little and not so little ones cool this summer. My kids would love this. Thanks so much for sharing!

Are you able to take it apart for storage or is it permanently glued at all joints? I’d love to have my husband make one for a party this weekend!
Oh WOW! I love this idea! I would also LOVE to share you link with my readers if you didn’t mind!
I have never thought of this before. I am going to go buy the products to day and make this. My kids are going to die when they see this. Actually I will have my husband make it!
Thanks,

I love it! Now following from the Outdoor Spaces Link Party!
Your daughter is surely going to have fun with those sprinklers. 😀 Water is a really amusing to play with, much more if you add a twist to it. How did you come up with that idea, anyway? I think that would be easier to maintain than those which are on ground level.

I would love to know the dimensions and how long you cut each piece of PVC. Did I miss that somewhere? You listed 100 feet but did not detail how long to cut each piece. I wanted to have these precut these at our Home Depot to make assembly easier. Could you please post? Thanks!
Nice didn’t know you can make a lot of diy projects using PVC Pipes.
