We are very excited to share that we will be apart of the Michaels Makers this year. This has been something that has been on “Our List” for quite sometime now and we are really excited that this year we will be apart of the Michaels Makers team along with 49 other bloggers. In case you have not seen who else will be a part of the team check out the list HERE. This past weekend was the Michaels Makers Summit and we were able to get together with most of these talented bloggers.
The Summit was amazing. The first day we were there we went to an awesome dinner at such a breathtaking place. It was called Long Meadow Ranch Winery & Farmstead. Its in Saint Helena, California on a vineyard and the food was so yummy. It was such a perfect setting to kick off the weekend.
This is our menu from that evening. Everything we had was top notch.
They really out did themselves. The set up was perfection.
The next day we were in San Helena, California at the most amazing property called The Ranch Above. This property was unlike anything I have ever seen. It was such a fun location!
While we were there we went to 4 different classes (weaving, watercolor, paper flowers and image transfer) – all taught by Michaels education partner, Creativebug.
We loved all of the classes and we have great news – each of the classes are available online for FREE on Michaels.com until 8/22 (you can re-create one or all of our summit projects)!
We both fell head over heels in love with watercoloring and since we have been home we have been working on a few different projects. The classes online are very helpful and very easy to follow. You need to be sure to go and check out the free classes that they are offering right now.
We love to find images online and try to recreate them to practice our strokes and color mixing and blending. I found this gorgeous Prickly Pear print from Paige Poppe on Etsy for inspiration and got to work!
We are excited for the upcoming year working with the Michaels Makers. Follow us along on our journey.
