Well hello hello my dear friends! I am so beyond excited to tell you that we finally closed and moved into our new house! I thought it would be fun to revisit our “old house” that was our rental home for just a year. A little background, my husband and I are both from the Phoenix area in Arizona. Mesa, specifically if you’re familiar with the Phoenix area. We lived there for the first 5 years of our marriage attending school and starting our family with our first two little boys. In 2011, we moved to Buffalo, New York for my husband to attend dental school, 4 years and two more baby boys later…we moved back to Mesa for his residency program in April 2015.
I lived about 12 minutes from Savannah and it was so much fun. We got together several times a week for projects, playdates and escapes. You know when you ditch everyone and everything and go out to sushi and sodas with your bestie? Yeah, we did that a lot. In that short year, we did countless projects, filmed our first video, Savannah had a baby, we went camping, to Hawaii, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Disneyland, launched our clothing line with Cents of Style and so many other countless adventures.
In an unexpected turn of events, my husband graduated from his residency program and took a job 2 hours away in Prescott, Arizona. Possibly the most bittersweet event of my life. Ha! I had to leave friends and family behind in Mesa which was the bitter part. BUT there was a lot of sweet too! A. My husband was 100% done with school which was literally the best day ever! We finally got our first home that I can renovate and let’s face it, Prescott is the coolest town with the BEST weather. It’s just 2 hours north of Phoenix. So before I get carried away with our NEW house (#mallorysprescottviewhome < follow along on Instagram @classyclutter) I thought it would be fun to take a journey back to our old rental home. We were only there for 14 months but man, I made that house a home.

August 19, 2016 at 8:40 amOmg everything is so cute!!! You hit the nail on every single little detail and I love all the colors. My sister in law and her family live in Mesa, you have actually probably heard of them. They are the founders of Garden Pool. We haven’t made it out to see them yet but when you mentioned Mesa it caught my attention.

September 1, 2016 at 10:01 pmMan I hope I can get into a rental that lets me paint! How do you feel about putting all that money into a home that you just have to leave? 🙁

September 21, 2016 at 1:12 pmSometimes it is hard putting money into a place that you are going to leave so you have to pick and choose what you really want to redo int that house! I always wanted where we lived to feel like a home so I tried my best to not spend a ton of money but to still have it be a place I love and enjoy being there! Thanks for stopping by xoxo
