My in-laws were moving and getting rid of tons of furniture and my MIL offered this BIG Wall Unit / Entertainment Center to me because she wanted my Pottery Barn Inspired Buffet for her new house. I definitely cannot take it to NY with me but I thought, hey, I could paint it and sell it!
Done deal!
I started with this!
BEFORE
and gave it a couple of coats of Behr in Black Suede and distressed the entire thing. The same technique I used on my Black Buffet. I also removed the cross bars on the glass and added doors to the front of tv opening.
Here she is!
Big. Black. & Beautiful!
AFTER
I opted to keep the original hardware and I just LOVE how it turned out! This was a beast of a project but I couldn’t be happier!
Now to get this baby sold! Send me an email at classyclutter4@gmail.com for details!
***UPDATE – This piece has been sold. Thanks Andrea!***
What do you think? Better in black??

May 11, 2011 at 4:03 pmThe shipping would kill me. It turned out so well. I’ll bet the first brush strokes were a little nerve wracking but the project is a super success.

May 16, 2011 at 9:06 pmSO MUCH better in black! (sorry – I LOVE black!!) But I really like that you let some of the original wood show through with distressing it! You really did a FANTASTIC job!
