Month of May Recap

Hello loves!! We are enjoying the last few hours of our California vaca! We hit up Disneyland and and the beach today… we all may or may not look like red lobsters… since when does SPF 50 not work…AT ALL???
This stuff….
did not work!
I swear it was just milky water coming out of that can! I have never had a problem with sunscreen not working.. until today.  Does it expire? Get old and stop working?? Any thoughts people?? My poor 1 year old and I got it the worst.  Despite the redness, we had a FANTASTIC time! Disneyland and the beach were just perfect!
Anyyyway… I wanted to do a little recap of our May projects! I thought this would be a fun little post at the end of each month in case you missed anything!
I started things out with this Better in Black Wall Unit Makeover.
Before
and
AFTER
Savannah and I completed the dresser in Oriental Silk.
BEFORE
and
AFTER
then I gave my rendition of How to Stain Wood Furniture 101

  1. Sunblock does expire! It lasts about a year. I throw out all of my old stuff at the beginning of every summer and buy all new lotions and sprays. Just like your regular lotion, it starts to break down after awhile and just isn’t as effective. And then just make sure it is broad-spectrum and specifically states that it protects your from UVA and UVB rays. Also, you get more sun when you are at the beach or the pool than not near water. Make sure you reapply every hour, not matter what.
And now that you are a little red, make sure you are using a lotion that is fragrance and dye free. Oh, and I LOVE that white dresser with the dark top. I’m going to try it myself!
