My new chalkboard and a winner!

My goodness how I love chalkboards! We’ve seen them all over the place with the availability and awesomeness of chalkboard paint! Did you know you could get chalkboard paint tinted whatever color you want?? Who knew!?
Well, lucky for me, I didn’t have to buy any paint because my friend Jen (Check out her etsy shop, Lishie! -so adorable!) had just completed a gorgeous chalkboard and had LOTS of left over “Dark grey” tinted chalkboard paint. She’s a great sharer 😉 She also babysat my kids today while I went to the dentist! hehe! Thanks Jen!
Looks kinda black in the photo but it’s a dusty grey color.
I picked up this frame from a thrift store for a couple bucks and hit up Home Depot for a piece of plywood to paint the chalkboard. The lumber guys were super helpful! I told them what I was trying to make and I said I wanted the cheapest thing that will look good and they got me all set up! I ended up paying $0.74 for my board and it’s a BIG board!
See! Almost as big as my little man! He’s such a good helper!
I painted the frame a sloppy coat of this pink “Oops!” paint I snagged from Wal-mart! I didn’t want a perfect paint job because I wanted the rustic pink to match the design of the frame.
Once it all dried, I popped the board into the frame. The board fit like a glove and
I LOVE IT! Now I have a place to list all of my “to do” projects! 🙂 It’s a long list people. For reals.
I love the detail of this frame! My whole project cost me about $10 and I couldn’t be happier! I CAN’T WAIT to show you where I’ve hung this beauty!
