As the holidays draw near, I thought it would be fun to come up with a few easy gift ideas! I love inexpensive, handmade gifts because it shows people that you really care and put thought into their gift, especially if you personalize it! These DIY stenciled coasters are really easy to customize and even if you don’t make them as a gift, they are great for your own home! I already had the paint, brushes and stencils so this project cost me $2.99! THAT is a great frugal gift!
Supplies: (contains affiliate links)
cork coasters – I got mine from Target (similar here)
stencils – I made mine with my SIlhouette CAMEO but you can buy stencils at any craft store.
First, gather your supplies and crank up your Taylor Swift 1989 cd! Optional but definitely more fun.
Paint the tops of the coasters and let dry thoroughly.
Once your paint is dry, apply stencil (I used adhesive vinyl to make my stencil).
Next, paint over your stencil. TIP: Stencils work best when you use up and down dabbing motions and light coats of paint.
Remove your stencil and allow to dry thoroughly. Repeat the same or different patterns on all of your coasters. It would be fun to personalize one with a monogram for someone special.
The scallop and polka dots are my favorites!
