The Beginning of our Vintage Trailer
I have been on the look out for a Vintage Trailer. I was looking for a project and I found boy did we find a project!
Check out our 1955 Fairlane 32 foot trailer! Its a beast!!!
We scored this trailer for less then $500 on craigslist and it was a deal we could not pass up!
Here are a few pictures of the inside now….its a mess the whole thing will be gutted. Including the roof and wood siding inside.
See what I mean… it needs to be gutted!
I am lucky enough to have a husband that is up for a challenge like this. This trailer redo will be a test to see how we would do on a house redo. I am excited about out newest adventure. I have some big ideas about it and I know my husband Kyle has some ideas/opinions about a lot of things on this trailer.
I have started to pin some of my ideas on Pinterest under Camper
Check it out!
I will keep you all posted on our trailer journey!

Wow! That is a “transformation-ready-to-happen!” How long do you think it will take to fix up? Quite a project, I bet! We bought a vintage camper recently for $3500 and found out it needs a new ceiling/roof! It’ll cost us $2500 to fix! Ugh! I guess we’ll be making this transformation journey together!!
Oh my goodness, you are brave! We just bought a trailer a couple months ago. We’ll have to go camping together when yours gets done. I’m so excited to see all of your blog posts on this!!
WOW! I’m so excited for you guys! Good luck 🙂
She’s a beauty! I’m excited to share you journey on this project!
Oh my goodness! This is SO exciting!!! I cannot wait to see the transformation take place! And $500? Even for its current condition, what a steal! Such a classic piece of americana 🙂
Wow! What a project! I have to tell you that one of these was my first home when I got married years and years ago. It was crowed but it was mine. It’s the same on model judging from your pics.
Have a blast! We gutted a vintage trailer a few years ago (except we were able to keep the cabinets in place). So much work but so worth it. It has helped us make many happy family memories. If you want you can check out “Elsie” here: http://pocketfulwhimsy.blogspot.ca/2011/07/elsie-inside.html
I saw you redid a different trailer. What did you end up doing with this one?
We ended up selling it. 🙂
Good you work on this project. There is so much fun when you try to improve something especially if the outcome is same as expectation.
