Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies and a gift idea!
Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies and a gift idea!
Hi friends! I got this recipe from my Great Grandmother, who is 91 years old and still bakes Sugar Cookies often with her 100+ grandkids! Crazy right? Ya I know.. it is so crazy but they all love it and how so much fun creating these special and fun memories with their Great Grandma. My kids look forward to this day every year. They have fun getting together with all their cousins and love seeing their great grandma. I really do love this tradition. I did it as a kid and I love that my kids get to share the same memories I did as a kid.

Great Grandma’s Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter – softened
2 Tbsp. water
3 eggs
Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla, eggs and water. Sift dry ingredients (add more flour to make a slightly sticky dough; add to mixture. Refrigerate for an hour or so for easier rolling. Roll and cut into shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Frost, decorate and store ASAP to keep them moist!

That’s it! They’re SO easy and they are scrumptious!
Okay I’m obsessed! Keep in mind that baked goods, especially cookies, are an awesome Christmas gift! Really, who doesn’t love them? Use alphabet cookie cutters (found at Joann’s) and box them up for a cute, easy, yummy gift! How cute would they be with a mason jar full of Christmasy frosting?! My neighbors will be getting these this year for sure!
I sure hope you’ll give these a try. They are so delicious with your favorite frosting or dipped in milk! YUM! Let us know what you think because I love these!!

Your Joy cookies look so cute all stacked up!
I love those JOY cookies. They are adorable. 🙂
