We Are HOME After 7 Weeks! | Where I Have Been?!

After 7 long weeks away from our family and friends, Kyle and I are so glad to be HOME! It felt like the longest 7 weeks ever, but looking back, we accomplished so much while we were gone that it went by in a flash.

So…the big question…where were we?!

I can’t tell you exactly where we were, but what I can tell you is that we weren’t close to home. We were living out a dream we have had for a very long time! The fact that Kyle and I got to experience this together was truly the opportunity of a lifetime!

What were you doing?

Please don’t hate me – but I can’t share that just yet! We are contractually obligated to keep that a secret until it’s time to reveal!

Were you doing what I think you were doing??

…..maybe! 🙂

When will we know for sure?

It’s likely going to be a few months before the big news is revealed. But it’s worth the wait – I promise!

Where were your kids?

After a lot of back and forth and input from everyone around us (including our kids), we decided it was best that they stay in Arizona. My brother and sister in law just bought a house down the street from us that is currently being renovated. They were kind enough to move into our house during their reno to help us make sure our kids had the best time ever. You guys, they REALLY delivered! Our family and friends took our kids on a million adventures and trips to keep them from missing us too much.

As you can imagine, leaving our kids for 7 weeks was one of the biggest decisions and sacrifices we had to make. It was soo hard to miss them so much. We are so lucky that our kids, especially our older girls, supported us every step of the way. We couldn’t have done it with out the support of our tribe!! They had an amazing summer and we got back just in time to send them off on their first day of school!

Did Kyle have to take off work?

Yes, Kyle had to take off 7 weeks of work to make this happen. He is self-employed which is how this was possible, but it was still a major sacrifice for his business. I can’t thank him enough for being there for me because I couldn’t have done it without him! I am so unbelievably lucky to have him. He knows how grateful I am!

Are you glad you did it?

1000% YES. I can’t wait to share it with you!!

Do you have to go back?

No, we don’t! That chapter has closed, but truthfully, it’s only just beginning!

So, what now?!

Here’s what I haven’t shared yet – I spent the last several months working 50+ hours per week (on top of all of my other responsibilities) preparing for this trip. It was many hours on the phone and behind the computer doing all of the prep necessary so that this trip was as smooth as possible. The weeks leading up to us leaving was one of the most stressful times of my life. I had to prep an entire team to help with my brand partnerships, this blog, and manage my business while I was 100% committed to this project.

Of course, I also had to prepare our family to make sure our kids were the in the best care possible which was not an easy task emotionally.

What I am looking forward to most now is getting back to normal – being with my kids, my family, my friends, and of course…doing house projects! That will all happen when I’m ready and settled but for now…it feels SO good to be home!!

Thank you so much for your endless support and understanding! I know it can be frustrating to not have all of the details. I promise – it’s coming! Stay tuned!
