Prescott View Home Reno: Shared Space Room Makeover

Hello friends! I’m so excited to share my boys’ new space with you! A couple months ago, my kids started begging to sleep together. I have 4 little boys and 2 of them shared a room with a twin bed and the other two shared a room with two twin beds (See last space/astronaut bedroom makeover here). After a lot 0f thought and several “trial nights” we decided we’d let them all share a room. This was the BEST decision ever for our kids! They have the BEST time together, they love their room and I know they’ll have countless late nights making memories together. Side note: Today Parker asked me if we can switch it to a Skylanders room and sorry bud, not gonna happen. lol!

I measured the longest wall in the room and literally went over every possible situation for squeezing 4 beds into the room. I thought about building my own and shopped every single possible store for the right beds. A couple must-haves included: must be able to fit two sets of beds long-ways on that wall, must be able to fit an 8″+ deep mattress, must have vertical (not slanted) ladders since we didn’t want it taking up any valuable floor space, must not be one million trillion dollars, must be white and wipeable and finally, relatively easy to assemble. I searched high and low and finally decided on these Viv & Rae Bunk Beds from Wayfair!

We wanted to keep the space / astronaut theme since 2-3 out of my 4 boys want to be astronauts some day (for now!) but we decided to add some more color to customize the room for each kiddo. They each got a quilt (all colored quilts from Target) and a star pillow case from Pottery Barn Kids in their favorite color. Carter has loved orange forever, Parker – Blue, Tanner – Green and Palmer – Red. They all are obsessed with THEIR favorite colors so this part was fun for them.

I made this giant Neil Armstrong quote vinyl decal for my boys wall. I’ll admit I think it’s pretty awesome and it was really fun to teach them about Neil Armstrong and why the quote is so important! You can get one at my vinyl shop here.

The light is a chrome sputnik (similar here).

We kept the navy constellation wall and some of the art work. They boys love their room and it’s so functional and stays clean like 80% of the time which is a huge win for me!

I would say I’ll stop bugging everyone about this but I just can’t. Please tell me you have tried Beddy’s? My kids are obsessed — I’m obsessed! Literally THE BEST invention ever!!! We have the Modern Gray in Twin for each of my 4 boys and it’s the BEST item I’ve ever purchased for my kids. Even my 2 year old can zip his bed guys.

I absolutely love my boys’ room! Soon I’ll show you how we organize their closets to fit 4 kids worth of clothes, shoes, etc into one bedroom.
