One of my favorite design tips and how to save money

One of my tried and true design tips is to add greenery or florals to a space. I make an effort to have something “living” (even if it’s faux!) in every room I design. It adds an element of interest regardless of your style or budget which I think is so fun!

If you’ve been following along on stories, I’ve been working on my family room over the past few weeks and quickly realized I needed to add something with height in this room to balance out the built-ins. A faux plant, specifically an olive tree, would be the perfect piece!

When picking out faux plants, I look for a few things:

  1. Is the scale the right size for the space?
  2. Does it have elements that look real?
  3. Will the price work for my budget?

For this space, I knew I wanted something tall – likely in the 5-6 foot range. After looking at a few plants online, I came across this amazing faux olive tree from Nearly Naturals! It looked very real with the faux olives hanging from the branches, was 6 ft in height, and with my digital coupon, it was definitely in my budget!

To find the best price, I used my favorite chrome extension, Honey, to help me find the coupon code that would save me the most money!

Honey is a 100% free tool for your computer that automatically finds and applies coupon codes at checkout with a single click. Let me show you how it works!

I use Honey before every single online purchase I make to ensure I am getting the best price. I can’t even tell you how much money I have saved over the years with this handy extension! With just one click you can save on average 17% on your online purchases and it works with over 30,000 retailers. I’m obsessed! You can add Honey to your browser by clicking here.

I am just loving the newest addition to my space! The greenery works so well with all of the other elements and breathes life into my entry.

Is there anything better than finding the PERFECT piece (and knowing you got the best price!)? What do you think? Would you add a faux olive tree somewhere in your home?
