Good Morning Classy Clutter readers! I’m Tara – the girl behind Anything & Everything where I blog about anything from DIY projects, home decor, food & drinks, and anything in-between.
I am so thrilled to be here today sharing a super easy and quick Halloween decoration. These Halloween Mason Jar Luminarias will be perfect to set out on the porch when all the little trick-or-treaters arrive, and are also great for your October home decor until Halloween does arrive, as they also look great during the day!
Supplies:
- flameless tea lights
- glitter blast (diamond dust) spray paint
- frosted glass spray paint
- sponge brush
- embellishments
- sponge brush
- decorative mason jar lids
- 2″ Alphabet Stickers
- twine
- mason jars
First place the stickers on each mason jar and paint them with the frosted glass spray paint and let dry.
Once dry, paint with the glitter blast spray paint and let dry.
While you are waiting for the paint to dry you, you can paint the mason jar rings. Then once everything is dry that you can tie on the twine, and decorate the jars however you would like with some embellishments. That is it! Now enjoy your super cute Halloween inspired mason jar luminaries!

September 28, 2014 at 8:33 amDo the candles give them the brilliant orange glow we see on the photo. I use those candles in a lot of projects and don’t see how you were able to achieve that glow??
Tara @ Anything & Everything
September 28, 2014 at 11:29 pmThanks for asking I’m glad you like them 🙂 The Led “candle” lights that I got are a tad warmer Hue, and so are naturally more “orange”. But yes the pics were done with very minimal color correction or post work. The trick mostly lies in your camera settings.
The photos were shot with a Canon EOS Rebel T2i in very low light situation with the following settings;
ISO: 400
Apature fstop: 4.0
Shutter speed: 0.6
The Lower shutter speed allows light to be captured longer and accumulate which adds some of the ambient glow. Of course you also want to put your camera on a tripod or table, so that you dont move/shake the camera while it is taking the shot. Otherwise you will get blur/ghosting.

September 29, 2014 at 12:29 amOh, I forgot to mention. The white balance was set to flash instead of auto, which also gives it a warmer exposure.

October 6, 2014 at 2:30 pmI have exhausted my search for 2″ letters like the ones shown. I had to settle for boring basic block style letters. Too often I am unable to find the items necessary to look like the projects posted 🙁 Not sure where else to look as I have already tried Michaels, Jo-Anne’s, Hobby Lobby and AC Moore and a few department stores!
