Today I’m super excited to share with you my tips for styling a bookshelf. I’ll be honest, I used to really struggle with this. In the last year or so, I’ve found some awesome tips to make styling a bookshelf (or any space in your house!) a lot simpler. My tips will help you show your personality through your home, on a budget without compromising your style.
One of the reasons I love bookshelves is because you can display so many awesome things and they’re great for storage. This particular bookshelf is awesome because A. it’s pink, duh. B. It has 3 drawers and a cabinet door that folds down and still the two top shelves to display cute things and even a bit of storage.
Tip One: Use bins and baskets to store like items. On the top shelf, I used a filing box that I keep important documents in. I got the black filing box from Target and added the gold polka dots. You can purchase gold polka dot decals in my Etsy shop here. I also used these awesome gold wire magazine baskets to hold magazines (and coloring books for my kiddos!)
Tip Two: Go green. I used this cute little Aloe Vera and this tiny little cactus to add some life to the space. Plants and flowers add interest, texture and life to any space and I especially love them on bookshelves. The faux plant is from Target and the cactus is set in a cute little gold votive from Target. I love their candles and votives!
Tip three: Stack books in a unique way. Bookshelves are for… well, books! I love colorful books and having them stacked and showcased in different ways adds interest and keeps your bookshelf looking great! I’ve seen (and love!) books organized by size and color but I love to stack mine in different ways and add an accessory, like a plant, candle, figural or small home accent to the top of my stacks to dress it up and show my style. Check out these options I played with!
All of these options are from Target. The black and gold sea urchin is actually a 3-pack of wall decor that I decided to use a different way. The figurals are a really fun way to express yourself in your decor. Find something fun and quirky that really speaks to you when you’re shopping. The best part is, these figurals are usually $5-$20! Great accent pieces for a great price!
This Marshmallow Pop candle is one of my faves. I loved the label and it smells amazing. Candles are also great accents for bookshelves. You can always place a great scented candle in a pretty votive to match your home and decor if the label doesn’t appeal to you. I love it propped up on my “I Quit Sugar” book. Oh, the irony.
Adding fun and interesting decor pieces to items you already have is a really simple and budget friendly way to style your space to reflect YOU! Your home should be an outward expression of yourself and this is a really fun way to achieve that.

It’s actually from my deer from White Faux Taxidermy. The other one broke so I use this one as a prop! Thanks!

December 9, 2020 at 6:49 amFor me, as a fan of books, these are very cool ideas for styling a bookshelf. I’m sure it will look cool.
And I would like to share my favorite book “Macbeth”. You can read a few essays about her on the site to see if she will interest you, but I am convinced that such an interesting story will interest everyone.
