I have a confession: folding towels brings me a LOT of joy. Like, more than it probably should.
And it’s because I learned exactly how to fold towels so they look exactly like they did at the department store every single time! It’s how towels are displayed at hotels and fancy resorts! It’s a tiny piece of luxury that you can have every single day in your own home!
Don’t get me wrong – learning to fold towels this way is EASY! Once you learn, you’ll wonder why you haven’t done this your whole life!

How to Fold A Towel The Right Way!
Time needed: 5 minutes.
How To Fold A Towel
- Lay the towel on a flat surface.
- Fold the towel in half “hamburger style!”
- Fold the towel in half a second time in the same direction.
- Pick up one end of the towel fold it towards the middle of the towel.
- Next, take the other end of the towel and fold it towards the middle. It will overlap the previous fold.
- Turn the towel upside down and stack accordingly for perfectly folded towels!
I’ve found that folding my towels this way help so much with the overall appearance of my linen closet. When stacked, they stick together and don’t fall over! This is one of those tiny tasks that make such a huge impact to your home!

What Color Towels Should I Buy?
This is purely based on preference, but there is something about folding white towels that just looks clean. We prefer white towels so we can bleach them to keep their crisp appearance. Since bath towels are used so often, colored ones tend to fade.
