I am excited to share this year’s fall mantle with all of you. This year with my mantle I wanted a very clean and classic look with all the colors of fall. I had a hard time finding exactly what I wanted so I knew that I needed to DIY a few things to get the look I was going for. I found some fall leaves and branches but I could not find a vase that I liked to go with the branches. Here is where the DIY comes in, I found a few plain glass vases and using some Krylon® Spray Paint I totally transformed them.
I started by using the Krylon® Shimmer Metallic Candy Corn spray paint and sprayed the top half of the vase. Always be sure to read product label for proper application and safety instructions.
This Shimmer Metallic spray has the perfect amount of shimmer to it. It adds a bit more movement and dimension then just plain orange spray paint.
After the top of the vase was dry I taped off the top half of the vase. I wanted to leave just the top 1/3 of the vase orange.
I really wanted the vase to have a high end look and some texture so I used Krylon®Fine Stone Texture Finish in Pebble to spray the bottom half of the vase.
I allowed it to dry for about 15 minutes before taking off the tape. The vases are now transformed into something with way more character.
The colors are perfect with the fall branches that I had.
I had another vase that I wanted to be more neutral so I used Krylon® Chalky Finish in Colonial Ivory to spray the two toned vase. The Chalky Finish spray has a great matte finish and it dries quickly.
I also used the same Krylon® Chalky Finish in Colonial Ivory to spray these pumpkins and gourds to match the rest of the mantle.
To finish off my mantle I made these paper flowers and I cut out the “hello fall” in gold vinyl.
For a bit more layering I added in some old books and some pinecones. I am so in love with these vases. They have such a high end look and great texture. The best part about Krylon®Spray Paint is that as the seasons change or as my mantle changes for a different occasion it can easily be updated by spraying the top of the vases a different color. One of the things that I love most about spray paint is that it transforms things into custom pieces at affordable prices and you have endless options.
We are excited to be working with Krylon® for this project. Opinions are my own and additional products used in the project were selected by us.
