  • Back to School Ideas

If you haven’t noticed yet, we’ve had a bunch of back to school ideas for you this year! We definitely run out of things to do that can entertain both my 5 year old and my 1 year old. I mean, you can only go to the park so many times and play legos for so many hours! ūüėČ They’re great at entertaining each other most of the time but like I said, we’re all ready for some structure and routine. I’ve rounded up a ton of fun Back to School ideas for you today! Everything from lunch ideas to First Day of School printables to Teacher’s gifts and more! Hope you enjoy them and can put most or all of them to great use! Teacher’s Survival Kit Gift Idea – this is awesome to give your child’s teacher…

  • How to mow your lawn – a Mom’s guide.

Confession: until Friday, I did not know how to mow the lawn. Well, I know how but I didn’t know how to use a common push lawnmower. I know, ridiculous. Do you know how?? Growing up my Dad had a driving lawnmower because we had a bit of land to mow and our front yard was mostly gravel and river rock with some shrubs and stuff so a normal push lawnmower wasn’t really necessary. Hence, me never learning how to do it. I feel like this is one of those things you need to know how to do. Kind of like riding a bike or changing a tire. You just need this skill. I was lacking it for far too long. Isn’t this pink tree down the street amazing? Photo via my iPhone/Instagram feed. Our lawnmower bit the dust last Fall and Winter came and we didn’t need one. Fast forward past the longest winter ever and it’s now Spring in New York and the grass is growing! YAY! I loooove Spring, you guys. The winter chill is gone, birds…

  • Printable Packing List for a weekend trip!

Getting ready for a trip can be stressful, am I right? Getting away for the weekend is one of the ways I recharge and something I make a priority! Having a printable packing list makes getting out the door a heck of a lot easier! Since this is something we do as often as we can, we put together a weekend packing list that helps me go through all of the items I’ll need! I print this out or keep a note on my phone with this info! Nothing worse than not having something when you need it! Whenever we go on trips, we get asked how we make it happen with little ones at home. To be honest, it’s not easy! We set a date, make a plan, and book a babysitter! Good babysitters are definitely hard to come by which is why we periodically have babysitters for date night so everyone gets used to the process of mom and dad leaving. It also gives the babysitter a chance to get to know our kids and ask any questions…

  • How to make a blog button and grab box with free programs

Hey guys! Today I’m going to show you how to make a blog button for your blog! It’s really really simple and I’ve seen some pretty complicated tutorials but I promise, I’ll make it SO easy on you. Let’s get started! First, design your button! You can use a free program like Picmonkey.com or Photoshop or whatever you’re comfortable with. If you already have a logo but need a button, you can use that too! Click design and use the square option. Get creative with shapes, fonts, colors and your logo if you have one to create a button you like. I suggest keeping it kind of simple so it stands out and its read-able. When you’re done, resize it to the size you want it to show up on your blog and on other blogs when people use your button. I think 150px x 150px is a great size because its big enough to see but you’re not taking up a huge chunk of space. Save your button design. Next, you need to have your image hosted somewhere. If…

  • Mommy Survival Kit in a Jar

How do you feel about our mason jar series? Day 3 of the cute series of gifts in a jar is something I love and that I could use every single day of my life. Its ¬†a mommy survival kit! This gift can be give to anyone, a new mom, soon to be mom, a friend, or just anyone that needs a pick my up. Most days my kids have different places to go, I have many loads of laundry, ¬†dishes to do, my baby is teething and I am running on about 5 hours of sleep. In this jar it has a little bit of everything that could make my day a little more doable. Here is what I put into the jar. Everything I found was at Walmart and I put it all in quart size jar. Wet Ones and Sanitizer (always a must have around kids), brightening under eye cream (for those lack of sleep eyes), Listerine strips,¬†Mascara and chapstick (so you feel somewhat put together), Crystal Light Energy and a bit of chocolate (because those two…

  • Winter Activities for kids

Confession: my little dudes have been watching WAY too much Phineas and Ferb. The screen time per day is at an all time high during these crazy winter months. Polar Vortex anyone? What is UP with that!? I mean, it can be exhausting to entertain 3 little boys (all 5 and under!) for the entire day AND run my etsy shop AND work on our blog. Then, throw in working out, meal planning, grocery shopping, housework, naps, errands, etc. and kill me now. It is seriously draining at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Tell me I’m not alone. BUT, there is something incredibly fulfilling about getting it all done and doing FUN things with your kids instead of plopping them in front of the tv all day. I’m vowing, right here, right now to make a serious effort to do more creative, fun things with the boys before they both start school next year. My 3 year old will be going to pre-K and my 5 year old will start Kindergarten. I don’t wanna talk about…

  • 10 Workouts to do at home

It’s a new year and so many people make resolutions to get fit! I know I do pretty much every year! This year I’m determined to make it happen. I grew up in the gymnasium. I was a gymnast basically my entire life and it was a part of who I was for most of my life. ¬†I was spending 4-6 hours a day in the gym at a minimum. It was my life. Now, I have a very different life. I’m a busy mom, wife, blogger, shop owner, etc. Like so many women, life gets busy and getting to the gym can be hard. ¬†This isn’t our typical topic around here but I think everyone could use help and motivation this time of year! Am I right?! Right now, I’m working on Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer¬†which is most definitely a workout that needs be done at a gym, unless you have a crazy awesome home gym that has like 80 billion pieces of equipment. I definitely don’t have one so I have been using our YMCA and I love…
