  • Mallory’s Classic Colonial Flooring Sources

It feels so freaking awesome to finally be posting about the new house!! I’ve finally chosen the flooring for most of our house and most of it is installed now! Yahoo! Instead of answering a ton of emails and direct messages on social media, I thought I’d write down everything you need to know or may be curious about! Hardwood Floors For the main flooring throughout out house, we chose engineered hardwood floors. Hardwood floors have come a long way in regards to durability and there are more affordable options on the market than ever before. We chose European White Oak Wide Plank floors. They have a micro-beveled edge and we used the glue-down installation method. You can read all about the exact flooring and find a retailer on Garrison’s website here. Carpet We chose to do carpet in our kids bedrooms, guest room and family media room. I choose the Lifeproof Carpet from the mothership, Home Depot. I used a 1/2″ thick pad and every single person that walks on the carpet comments on how soft and comfortable it…

  • Boys Room Idea- Adventure Room

This post is sponsored by Behr Paint. All thoughts and opinions are our own. Coming up with ideas little boy’s room can be a bit tricky! Especially if you little boy is too old for a nursery but is still a bit too young for pre-teen and teenager room. When they are still young, I like to either come up with a cool theme for the room and/or come up with a unique color palette. Paint makes all the difference & upcoming Behr Color Clinic Paint is by far the best way to transform a space. We are so excited to be partnered with Behr Paint and talking more about the Behr Color Clinic on this project. We love Behr and we have used their paint on so many different projects. Like my hallway, the exterior of my house, my painted playhouse, my master bedroom accent wall and so many more! I am excited to go into the detail of this room but before I do, mark your calendars for May 17, 2019 at 9am PST because we will chatting…

  • Installing Bamboo Flooring

This post is sponsored by the Home Depot but all opinions are my own. I recently replaced the carpet in my girls room with this Bamboo Click Lock flooring from the Home Depot in the light brown color. We are just loving this flooring so much. It was really easy to install. We were able to do all of it in one weekend. My kids room had carpet in them when we bought the house. The carpet was not in terrible shape when we moved in but after two and a half years of my kids wear and tear the carpet was needing to be replaced. I wanted something easy to install, affordable, and also good for kids. I really do think that the Bamboo Flooring was a great choice. Installing the Flooring When it came to actually removing the old carpet and doing the prep work for the floor and installing the Bamboo flooring from Home Depot that only took a day. We did the finishing touches with installing the quarter round the next day. I can’t even believe how easy it was to…

  • Modern Ranch House: Formal Living Room

My formal living room has changed several times since we moved into this house. If you have seen the before pictures of my house then you have seen that this front room space has been changed quite a bit since we bought the house. But so you can get an idea of just the space here are some of the before pictures.  The Formal Living Room Before Our formal living room was the room right off of the entryway. It originally had a wall that is now a way more open space to the family room. It also had a step down and you can see all about that HERE. Up until recently I had the formal living room right when you walk in the entryway still and it connected with the family room. My only conflict I had every once in while was I didn’t necessarily love the sofa backing up another sofa in the family room. After the kitchen remodel which you can see HERE I really wanted to hang out space that connected to the kitchen so…

  • Modern Ranch House: Dining Room Reveal

Dining rooms are made up of a very few pieces of furniture. Two keys pieces of furniture for a dining room are a table and chairs. Because you don’t need a bunch of different pieces its very important the you select the right pieces. I want to share what pieces I chose for my dining and hopefully give you a few dining room ideas. What my Dining Room looked like before My dining room has been changed a few times since we have moved into this house 2 1/2 years ago. When we bought this house my dining room was just off the kitchen. If you are new here or if you want to see what the house looks like when we bought the house you can check out this post HERE. You can also search the hashtag #savannahsmodernranchhouse What is different about the my Dining Room? • Kitchen Remodel Tour Video

This post is Sponsored by Elkay but all opinions are mine. Our kitchen has been by far the hardest, most expensive, most rewarding, most challenging, and biggest project in this house. A few weeks ago, we revealed my kitchen in a blog post and now I want to take you on a video tour so that you can get a better feel of the lay out and also you can see how we use the kitchen and how well it is set up for our family. I had an Elkay Quartz sink in my last kitchen you can see it HERE and I am so happy that I have this Fireclay Farmhouse Sink  in my new kitchen. When I was selecting my sink for the new kitchen I knew I wanted a white, double bowl and a farmhouse style and the Fireclay Farmhouse Sink[ is so perfect for this space and I love that it truly is the center of our home. You can read more about this beautiful sink and the rest of the links to items in my kitchen…

  • Spring Cleaning Kitchen Checklist

This post is sponsored by Viva® Towels. All ideas and opinions are our own, always. It’s that time of year again! Spring cleaning is in full swing around here now that the kids have gone back to school after spring break. As you may know, we recently renovated our kitchen and man, renovations can get dusty and messy in a hurry! Now is the perfect time for me to do my kitchen spring cleaning, and I’m excited to share my tips and kitchen cleaning routine with you. Refrigerator The first thing that always gets messy and out of hand at our house is our refrigerator and freezer. The first thing I like to do is go through and dispose of all expired products. I definitely don’t need three ketchup bottles that are half-full, so I like to consolidate things that I have multiples of and dispose of empty containers or things that are expired. We use Viva® Multi-Surface Cloth™ for the entire job. They clean and feel like cloth and are super strong and absorbent. They are strong enough to…

  • Modern Ranch House: Backyard phase 2- Painted Playset and New Pool Umbrellas

It has been awhile since I shared an update on my backyard. The backyard has been a work in progress for awhile. If you want to see the very very beginning of the backyard transformation you can see the before pictures and details of the plan HERE, Our concrete path HERE, and how to install pavers HERE and now here we are. We still have a few more things we want to do in the backyard but we are loving every single part of it right now. Painted Playset We got our kids this Playset for Christmas. Don’t be like us and start the set up on Christmas Eve, that was not our best idea. And it really does take as long as the package says it will take to set up. HAHAHA. We got our play set at Costco. You can find it HERE. When we bought the playset we knew that we would paint it to match the house, you can see our paint colors HERE. When our painter came to paint our ceiling in the house he…

  • Saying Goodbye to #mallorysparkhome

I’m gonna be a bit vulnerable here and hope you’re fine with it! We sold our house. If you didn’t catch our Instagram announcement, we are moving! I wanted to announce it all sooner but it didn’t make sense since everything was super “up in the air” as far as moving plans etc. We were so blessed to list our house (AND SELL IN A WEEK!) with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. They went above and beyond and made our home look its absolute BEST which lead to a quick sale. Our agent was amazing and handled my 500 calls a day with patience and whenever I had a concern or needed something done, it was handled with HUSTLE which I so appreciate, being the anxious, impatient person that I am. I can’t believe how smoothly it all went. If you need a real estate agent in the Prescott, Arizona or Phoenix Metro area, I can’t recommend Josias Solorzano with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate enough – Check out his website for contact info, here. I’m not going…

  • We’ve been keeping a secret!

As I sit down to write this, I’m not even sure what to say! I just want to freaking cry like a baby. You all know I hate crying in front of people so it’s a good thing you’re reading this! 😉 Quick back story… Savannah and I started our blog/business back in 2010 when we both lived in Mesa, Arizona. In 2011, my husband was accepted to dental school and we packed up our very tiny apartment and left for Buffalo, New York. We were there until 2015 when my husband graduated dental school and was accepted into a residency program back in Mesa. Savannah and I were both thrilled to live only 10 minutes away from each other after working long distance for 4 years. After his residency was complete, we left AGAIN for my husband’s new job and moved to Prescott, Arizona… a 2 hour drive from Mesa. Closer than Buffalo but certainly not ideal. We’ve been in Prescott for 3 years now and we are so happy to announce that WE’RE MOVING HOME! It’s happening! I…

  • Modern Ranch House Kitchen Remodel

A kitchen remodel can be hard and can have challenges for sure. But now that it is over I can say it is all worth it! This post is sponsored by Home Depot but all opinions are my own. This kitchen remodel has been a labor of love that is for sure. When our kitchen flooded at beginning of November things got crazy really fast. When we bought the house we knew that we would have to do a kitchen remodel but we were not planning on it anytime soon. Especially since we had just finished our backyard. But when life gives you lemons and forces you to demo your kitchen right before Thanksgiving you go for it and boy did we! Our fridge leaked and we notice our hardwood popping up one afternoon. When we pulled the fridge out we then realized that the leak had been going on for awhile and it had ruined the cabinets from the fridge to the sink and also had ruined the wood all around. I will go into more details of the…
