It’s our first room reveal in my new house!!! YAY!!!! We are SO sad to retire the Superhero Room but we moved it to two different houses and this would be the 3rd house we reused it in. My Parker wants to be an astronaut and he really really wanted a space room. Now, themed rooms can go one of two ways. We can get all Winnie the Pooh, bright colors and honey everywhere or how I like to do it, pick a theme and go neutral and add some “themed” touches. I added a few more touches than I initially thought but I am obsessed with the turn out. Parker is beside himself. He can’t get enough and wants to show everyone his room. He shares with my 2 year old who would be happy to live in a cardboard box but I’m assuming he is just as obsessed. Totally fine. Oh, I photoshopped out some cheesy Cheetoh fingers on the newly painted white beds for ya. You’re welcome.
When we moved in, here’s how the decor looked. Oh sad day. No skyline, no Batman masks, no art, no throw pillows. S-A-D! That superhero room, actually the original superhero room we did in our New York house, was my favorite. This new space room has my heart and I really couldn’t choose which one I like better so don’t make me mkay?!
I spray painted the beds, painted the nightstand and the walls, changed out the light and decorated allllll the things. I’ll stop rambling and let you enjoy the pictures of this darling boys’ space room. Check out the sources for all of the decor at the end of the post.
Have you guys seen Beddy’s? I am head over heels, freaking in love with them. My kids can make their beds BY THEMSELVES in like 30 seconds. Even my 3 year old! You guys, if you have kids or heck, if you hate making your bed but love having it made, YOU NEED THEM!!!!
I am so obsessed with them. I tell everyone about them. Their basically a bedsheet zipped to the comforter with the comfiest minky fabric inside and they are ridiculously comfy!
My kids rooms always look put together now that we have them. They have a ton of styles and colors but the Modern Gray is my favorite. 3 of my kids have this one. Check out this video to see them in action. If you have ever listened to anything I ever had to say, get these. Life. Changing. Phew!

September 2, 2016 at 3:27 pmI liked it a lot, but then when you showed the other side of the room with the “One small step… ” and the Flag just POPS and I was head over heels in LOVE! Cutest room ever. Might have to recreate this for my little Rocketman — his room is Space too since it goes so well with his nickname 😉

October 3, 2016 at 9:14 amWow! I wish I have a room like this when I was a kid. This room is perfect! It’s every boy’s dream room. The room’s main color – Blue and white are going perfect together. I don’t have a dream room like this when I was a kid so i think i should start decorate a room for my kids on whatever topic they like. Thanks for sharing this! It just remind me some beautiful memories 🙂

January 22, 2017 at 6:57 amYou have my favorite sensibility for designing boys’ bedrooms. I am going to redo my boys’ room this year (ages 2&6) and I have been obsessed with your original superhero room for weeks! And now this gorgeous room is inspiration for a few years down the road. It is hard to find boys’ rooms that embrace a typically masculine theme while creating a calm, creative vibe. When my sons said they wanted a superhero room, I cringed. But I keep coming back to your design for inspiration- thank you!

January 24, 2017 at 11:33 amHi Julia!
Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words! I felt the same way when my boys wanted a superhero room and tried to think outside of the box from what I typically see for superhero rooms! The modern superhero vibe is so fun! If you end up doing a superhero room, shoot me an email! I may have some superhero goodies I’d love to send you!

August 31, 2018 at 7:36 pmI love this!! I just got two Beddy’s for my boys bunk bed and their mattresses are 6” and 8” deep….. Beddy’s said you did a tutorial on how to make them fit a shallow mattress, but I haven’t been able to find the tutorial anywhere!! Could you direct me, please? I’m going to be coming back to your site over and over and over again since we’re beginning to renovate our new home. Thanks for all the inspiration and for the helpful links!!
