I can’t believe it but my baby sister is getting married next week! Sophie and her new husband will be living in their new rental after the wedding! I have been challenged to do some budget-friendly renovations to upgrade the space on a budget!
Think peel and stick wallpaper, a new rug, and my favorite way to transform a space — PAINT!
Welcome to…Sophie and Tate’s living room! The floor was taped off for paint but underneath is carpet.
Tell us about the paint color!
Because this is a smaller space, we wanted to get a lighter paint color that would help the room feel airy and bright.
Sophie LOVES to host and have her nieces and nephews over so we wanted to pick something that was durable and resistant to wear as well.
A light paint that is also scuff resistant? That’s a tough combo.
To get scuff resistant paint, I would typically recommend going for a shinier paint sheen. The problem is that we are looking for the modern look of a more matte paint. There is only one brand that delivers scuff resistant flat paint and of course, that is BEHR ULTRA® SCUFF DEFENSE™ Interior Paint! Yes, this is both a paint and primer!
We chose the color….Seaside Villa S190-1!
Seaside Villa S190-1 is a light neutral that has the perfect amount of pink. If you’ve wanted to try painting a room pink but don’t want it to be too overpowering, this is a great color!
Seaside Villa S190-1 is also available through BEHR® Express which means you can have it right to your house! I love that option!
I have used BEHR ULTRA® SCUFF DEFENSE™ Interior Paint throughout my home as well and it has performed beautifully over the years!
Because we painted the whole room, including the ceiling, we chose to spray instead of roll. With this sprayer, we were able to preserve and use less paint in the room. .
Ready to see the final reveal?
How perfect is Seaside Villa in this space?!
I am so excited for Sophie and Tate to have a space to call their own and begin this journey together!
Now tell me — what is your best piece of wedding advice for Sophie and Tate?! Leave a note in the comments!
