  • Coastal Bedroom Makeover

This post is sponsored by Walmart. As always, all opinions are our own. Since moving into our new house, our youngest son’s room has been lacking the attention it deserved. I have been anxious to give his room a full makeover. I wanted to create a space that reflects his personality but will also grow with him as he gets older. These toddler years don’t last nearly long enough! Coastal / Beach Decor Bedroom Ideas Coastal decor is beach decor. A common misconception is that Coastal Style means nautical. Anchors and rope, nope. While those things certainly work, Coastal Style is so much more. It typically features earth tones, a variety of blue tones, usually jute and rope textures and that’s exactly what I wanted. We hoped to create a summer by the lake vibe and included a few animals to keep it feeling appropriate for a toddler but also a space that he can grow into. I love that we were able to create a cool, crisp, beachy feel while keeping it age appropriate. I am loving all of the coastal…

  • Mallory’s Classic Colonial: Dining Room Makeover

I’m so excited to be sharing some actual progress with you guys on the house. This dining room is literally visible from most areas of our house and was a little bit of a challenge for me to make sure that all walkways are clear, the furniture felt appropriately sized and things didn’t feel too blocked off. You literally have to be able to walk around the entire table because it’s in the middle of the whole house. We opened up some pocket doors that lead to our living room and took out a wall that was in between our dining room and our kitchen. The wall didn’t look structural then ended up needing a beam and also caused a minor A/C reroute. We had our new floors installed (you can read about the flooring in our house here), painted the walls Behr Frost (a cool white), installed baseboards, new electrical outlets and switches and finally a new light fixture. I love the boldness of the black and white with the traditional furniture and architecture. I want our home to…

  • Brooklyn and Bailey’s Dorm Room Makeover

As you probably know since we’ve been blasting it on social media, we had the incredible opportunity to design and decorate YouTubers Brooklyn & Bailey’s dorm room for college. We have been friends with Brooklyn & Bailey’s mom, Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles (she’s a freaking rockstar!) and when she asked if we wanted to help with their dorm room at Baylor University, we obviously said YES! It was soooo much fun and we had the BEST time in Texas with them! Head over to their YouTube channel to see their video. Here are some of the before and after shots and links to all of the stuff we got to beautify their dorm. Amazing what a rugs, removable wallpaper and a whole lot of love and decor can do. The girls had a full apartment (and 2 other roommates) so we decorated their Living Room, Bathroom and Bedroom for Brooklyn and Bailey. Below you’ll find all the sources for everything we could find online! • Park Home Reno: Kids Room Ideas – LEGO Room Makeover

I’m always looking for awesome kids room ideas! My boys requested a LEGO room for their room makeover so we gave them a colorful space packed with LEGO themed decor and accent pieces! You guys ask for kids room ideas so often so I’m excited to share a new one with you all today! As many of you know, I have five little boys! They range from 2 months old to 9 years old and they are the light of my life! What mom doesn’t say that? When we moved into our new house, the boys requested a LEGO themed room. Oh freak. That’s going to be quite the challenge I thought. I knew I wanted it to be colorful, geometric (mostly square and rectangular shapes) and feel fresh and modern. Everyone asks how we manage to keep all of our kids in one room so I’m going to share my tips and tricks of what I’ve learned over the past few years. How to design a kids room When designing a kids room, I first consider the necessities. So…

  • Park Home Reno: Basement Family Room Makeover

This post is sponsored by Living Spaces. All opinions are my own. Park Home Reno: Basement Family Room Makeover Hi friends! I’m finally sharing another room reveal of the new house! I am so thrilled with how this room turned out. When we moved in, the room was a big, blank slate. It’s a huge space which is awesome for our family but hard to decorate! When we moved in, I could just see so much potential for the space. It needed a little updating (ceiling fan and electrical outlets/switches) and some color. You know we love color here at Classy Clutter! *wink* We decided to partner with our friends at Living Spaces and I knew exactly what I wanted for the space. Must haves: Comfortable, Durable sectional sofa (recliners preferred) Coffee Table with storage TV credenza with storage Colorful rug and accessories Bonus: Accent Chair(s) When I decorate a space, I always choose the “big” furniture first and that usually inspires my color palette and makes choosing the accessories and decor much easier.  I started by visiting my local Living…

  • Park Home Reno: Living Room Makeover

Park Home Reno: Living Room Makeover I’m so excited to share this space today! I decided to take a few photos before I got my Christmas decor up this year. We still have a few things to do in this room but here it is for now! This is what the front room looked like when we first moved in. It’s literally the exact view right when you walk into our house. First, I painted all of the walls Behr Frost (satin) and the navy wall is Behr Starless Night (flat), my FAVORITE navy right now. We installed Reverie Sputnik Chandelier from Lucent Light Shop. I built the mantel using the same method as I did in my old house. You can get that tutorial here. DIY Fireplace Mantel. I’ve linked all of the sources for where I got everything at the end of the post after the photos.   I love my blue/white glass collection and I actually have a new place for the collection to go soon but I’ve loved collecting these lamps, jars, vases etc! • Park Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover

Park Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover Hi friends! Mallory here! I’m still alive and I am excited to finally be sharing a Laundry Room Makeover with you all! This pregnancy and broken foot have really slowed me down! haha! The laundry room, as you can imagine, gets a lot of use in a family of 6 (almost 7!).  I have always felt that its easier to do tasks that you don’t particularly like when you enjoy the space you’re in. Luckily, this was not a huge renovation and mostly needed cosmetic upgrades to fit our style and a few changes for the function of the space.  The previous owners (and our dear friends!) installed beautiful wood-looking tile, new cabinets and a beautiful countertop which already provided an excellent layout and function to the space. We were due for a little upgrade, mostly regarding size, of our old washer and dryer! We worked with Home Depot and ordered a new washer and dryer online. Man, I love ordering things online and The Home Depot makes it so easy. If you follow…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Makeover

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Stearns & Foster. The opinions and text are all mine for my Master Bedroom Makeover Hello friends! I’m so excited to be sharing my master bedroom makeover reveal with you today! It’s a colorful mix of traditional, modern and a splash of farmhouse and I absolutely l love it! Last week I shared my plan for refreshing the space!   Let’s chat mattresses for a sec. Guys, no matter how much work, time, energy, etc you put into your space, the most important thing about designing a space is that it functions for you to the best of you and the room’s ability. Have you ever been to a beautiful hotel but the bed was so uncomfortable you couldn’t sleep? Maybe you visited a restaurant that had a great atmosphere and looked great but the food was awful? PRIORITIES people. If your master bedroom is not a place you can completely relax and recover from your day’s work, what’s the point? Why design a beautiful space unless it does…

  • Surprise Teen Girl’s Bedroom Makeover

Surprise Teen Girl’s Bedroom Makeover Today’s teen girl’s room makeover is very, very special to me and near and dear to my heart. Several months ago, I found out that one of my kid’s favorite babysitters, Karli (a teenager we met at church) was soon to undergo major surgery from her pectus excavatum. Pectus excavatum is a congenital disorder which causes the chest to have a sunken or “caved in” appearance. It is the most common congenital chest wall abnormality in children. Often times, this issue is only cosmetic but with our sweet friend Karli, her chest was caving in and pressing on her heart, causing her a number of issues. Karli recently had her surgery to have this corrected, which is a crazy, extensive surgery and has caused her an incredible amount of pain. About a month before her surgery, her mother and I had the idea to surprise her with a bedroom makeover while she was in the hospital having surgery so she would have a special place to come home to recover and hopefully, lift her spirits a bit…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Shared Space Room Makeover

Prescott View Home Reno: Shared Space Room Makeover Hello friends! I’m so excited to share my boys’ new space with you! A couple months ago, my kids started begging to sleep together. I have 4 little boys and 2 of them shared a room with a twin bed and the other two shared a room with two twin beds (See last space/astronaut bedroom makeover here). After a lot 0f thought and several “trial nights” we decided we’d let them all share a room. This was the BEST decision ever for our kids! They have the BEST time together, they love their room and I know they’ll have countless late nights making memories together. Side note: Today Parker asked me if we can switch it to a Skylanders room and sorry bud, not gonna happen. lol! I measured the longest wall in the room and literally went over every possible situation for squeezing 4 beds into the room. I thought about building my own and shopped every single possible store for the right beds. A couple must-haves included: must be able…

Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover

This post is sponsored by Persil®. All ideas and opinions are our own, always! For Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover. I am so excited to finally reveal my laundry room makeover. I have had it semi-done for months but I finally put the finishing touches on. Let’s journey back to where we began… This makeover was relatively easy for the result! Like a little effort went a really long way! First, I painted the walls… right over the wallpaper! We plan to shiplap this room soon so I didn’t want to go through the trouble of removing the wallpaper. I sanded the seams and tears in the wallpaper and painted it all a super light grey (almost white!) The paint color is Behr Silver Dust. I added shaker style trim to the cabinets and painted them white. I will eventually replace them with new cabinets that go up to the ceiling but these work great for now! I removed the old vinyl floors and replaced them with my favorite Thirties Vintage Tile. Its porcelain that looks like hand painted cement…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Living Room Makeover

Hey friends! I’m back today to share our living room makeover with you! Yesterday I shared our fireplace remodel and since it’s directly connected to the fireplace, I thought it would be fitting to share my living room makeover today! Okaaaaay, so here is our “move in day” version of our living room. It’s incredible to me how much I loved this sofa and rug in our old house but how it totally didn’t work for me in this house! The sofas seemed too low and the rug was so not the look or color I wanted in here. Out with the old… Savannah and I painted the walls (Behr – Silver Polish, which is a suuuuuper light, almost white grey with a cool undertone) and it helped make it feel more fresh. I got this new rug (Rugs USA) and the sofas from Living Spaces and loved where it was going then… nothing. Like, it’s fine but I wasn’t feeling it. I loved the sofas but my husband hated that they were velvet. Hate is a strong word but totally appropriate…
