A while back we created the perfect place for entertaining and lounging outside this summer and fall. We had fresh flowers and plants but realized one thing was missing, fresh herbs!

Having your own herb garden is trending right now and we quickly realized why. There is something empowering about growing your own food and herbs are basically growing your own flavors! We incorporated some of our favorite herbs as a centerpiece for our outdoor space with a few inexpensive garden items from Target.

We snagged this tin that has separate compartments and divided up some of our favorite herbs: mint and basil. We use basil a lot while cooking and mint helps to keep the bugs away and tastes amazing when added to summer drinks! We added the chalkboard vinyl label and wrote Herbs on it to dress it up a little.

Target also had these darling stamped garden markers to identify which plant is which.

What good are fresh herbs unless you have some fun ways to use them. We are both trying to stay hydrated this summer (we’ve already had 117 degree temperatures this summer in Arizona!) so we are trying some inventive ways of drinking a lot of water. We created this delicious Fresh Mint, Lemon and Blackberry infused water by adding ice, blackberries, lemons and some leaves of fresh mint into our water.

To make infused water, add your favorite fruit, herbs or even veggies (like cucumber!) to your water and let it sit for at least 30 minutes so the flavors really come out in the water.

This water tastes incredible and there’s nothing better than fresh herbs from your own mini-garden! You can easily create this little centerpiece and add fresh herbs into your life with these inexpensive items from Target. I mean, you have got to try this water! It’s so refreshing and the mint gives it a little kick!
