  • Modern Ranch House: Girls Bedroom Makeover

I have searched high and low for different girls bedroom ideas and I finally got my girls bedroom done and I am so thrilled how it turned out. For my girls bedroom I wanted it to be very whimsical and playful and I think that’s exactly what I achieved. Before I show you the final reveal let me show you the before picture. It was a very very plain room with brown carpet. When we first moved in we had a million projects going on so the kids room sat with just the beds for about two weeks. I knew I wanted the kids rooms to be done as part of their Christmas gift. The first thing I got for the girls room was this amazing mural by Bari J. she is such amazing artist and she happens to be local in Arizona. I have seen her work in many different places including the cutest phone cases ever at Anthropologie. You all know how much I love a accent wall and I wanted something epic in my girls bedroom and…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: DIY Brush Stroke Wall & Dining Room Makeover

Hey friends! Today I’m excited to share another room in my new house! Over the weekend, I worked on this little dining room and added some finishing touches to the room! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. The wall with the window and door (that leads to our backyard) was white and a bit boring but I knew I could jazz it up and make a faux wallpaper with DecoArt’s new METALLICS paint from the Americana Decor Line! I am SO in love with this metallic paint! The entire project cost less than $10 and took less than an hour to complete! Amazing right? Materials: DecoArt Americana Decor METALLICS paint in Champagne Gold Craft Brush(es) Scrap piece of wood or paper Blank wall I found this pattern inspiration on Pinterest by searching Brush Stroke Pattern and loved the cross hashes and how perfectly imperfect it is. Isn’t it fun! I actually love it in navy but we all know, gold is my jam so I went with Champagne Gold from DecoArt. Pattern by Minakani for Otto d’Ame via Pinterest…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Kids Bathroom Reno Reveal + Pfister faucet review

Hello dears! I am back today, as promised with our bathroom reveal! I left you last night about 95% done and now I’m like 99% done but I promised I’d be back so that 1% will have to be done later! I am going to start by saying YAY!!!! I’m so beyond excited that this room is “done!”. Mostly. 😉 I just have a teensy bit of grout work to fix and a teeny bit of caulking left. And… maybe a touch up paint here and there but nothing even noticeable. Let’s begin with a little refresh of what we started with. This bathroom was not in bad shape at all. Luck for us, the reno was relatively quick and pretty straight forward. We didn’t run into any issues like water damage or crazy plumbing or electrical issues that you definitely can encounter when you take an older home’s bathroom down to the bare studs. Here was our DIY plan for the makeover. We tiled the shower to the ceiling and added a soap box. I forgot to get a…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: My Little Boys’ Space Room Makeover

It’s our first room reveal in my new house!!! YAY!!!! We are SO sad to retire the Superhero Room but we moved it to two different houses and this would be the 3rd house we reused it in. My Parker wants to be an astronaut and he really really wanted a space room. Now, themed rooms can go one of two ways. We can get all Winnie the Pooh, bright colors and honey everywhere or how I like to do it, pick a theme and go neutral and add some “themed” touches. I added a few more touches than I initially thought but I am obsessed with the turn out. Parker is beside himself. He can’t get enough and wants to show everyone his room. He shares with my 2 year old who would be happy to live in a cardboard box but I’m assuming he is just as obsessed. Totally fine. Oh, I photoshopped out some cheesy Cheetoh fingers on the newly painted white beds for ya. You’re welcome. When we moved in, here’s how the decor looked. Oh sad day.…

  • How to paint a dresser (inside the house!)

I’m finally showing a project in my new house! A lot of our house feels like a reno zone but a few spaces feel “done” over the last week or so. We still have a few things to do in the completed spaces but at least it it is starting to feel like our home. Today we’re teaming up with DecoArt to show you another makeover using DecoArt Satin Enamels. This little dreamboat dresser was a yard sale find back when I lived in New York and has had a couple different makeovers. It has been used in my boys’ room and now they’ve outgrown it a bit since they’re bigger and have more clothes. (The drawers are not very deep so it doesn’t hold a ton of clothes, especially for two kiddos sharing a room.) The pulls are built into the drawers so I had to spray paint them first. I gave it 3-4 blasts of spray paint per handle to brighten the gold that was already there. Next, I used DecoArt Satin Enamels in Pure White. This paint…

  • Colorful and Eclectic Teenage Bedroom Makeover

We posted how we did this awesome wall treatment a few days ago and we wanted to show you the rest of the room. You can see all the details about who we did this room for and for how we did the wall treatment HERE. Now here are some more details on this awesome room makeover.   It’s about layering great colors and textures together that make a cute room into an over the top awesome room. It is no secret that we love gallery walls. A few of these items are from our personal houses that we gave as a gift for Bailee’s room. The watercolor and the animal print and the heart are all from Mallory’s Office and the today is the best sign is from my girls bedroom. The map is a new print that I just added to the Classy Clutter Print shop. You can find the Map HERE. I made this headboard a few years ago. It was in my girls room and I recently just changed up their beds to a trundle bed…

  • DIY Custom Labels + My Garage Organization progress

This post is sponsored by Silhouette America. All ideas and opinions are my own. HOORAY! Today we’re talking organization; one of my favorite topics! I recently tackled my garage for all of the odds and ends of the household and created a functional (and cute!) storage solution for all of that stuff that doesn’t have “a home”. In our house, every item needs a home. If something doesn’t have a home, it doesn’t get put away properly and eventually gets lost, broken or forgotten. Do you have these items? Things like a random picnic blanket, random party supplies, in between or out of season clothing, memorabilia, car accessories or seasonal items seem to be the trend at our house. I also wanted a visible, safe place for my Christmas and various holiday decor. Christmas is my major decor holiday, which I feel like maybe its that way for most people(??). For other holidays, I have a few items I throw up or a lot of times I will make a few items here or there for holidays. I’m going to show you…

  • Star Wars Kids Bedroom

This Star Wars Kids Bedroom reveal is sponsored by American Furniture Warehouse but all the opinions are my own.   You guys!!! I am so excited to share my little boys room with you today. To say that he is obsessed with his new room is a bit of an understand. My three-year old little boy Ryder LOVES Star Wars. I wanted to give him a themed room with out it being to “cheesy” and I really think that Mallory and myself nailed it. The first thing that I bought for his new big boy room was his headboard. I wanted the headboard to be classy and timeless and when I found this headboard from American Furniture Warehouse I knew it was perfect. What I love about the headboard is that it totally gives the room a very rich and sophisticated feel to the room, especially with a themed room that was really important to me. I LOVE American Furniture Warehouse. I am lucky enough to have one about 20 mins from my house and whenever I am looking for a…

  • Mallory’s Girly Office Makeover

Pretty in pink! I am love with the office space in my new office. It’s the perfect place for me to create, do vinyl orders and even sit and watch Friends. For real. I did bright white and pops of pink and gold throughout the room and I love the turn out. I painted the swash of pink and added my custom made Classy Clutter sign from LetterCraft. My favorite woodworking artists and my neighbors! I created a gallery wall effect on the main wall right when you walk in and used our DIY Acrylic Calendar (See our tutorial here on A Beautiful Mess and/or you can purchase calendar decal here) I used my glittered CREATE letters again from my old craft room, watercolored the flamingo and made a few prints using Heidi Swapp’s Minc Machine. I mean, the gold foiled leopard is my favorite! For the craft island, I took 4 cube organizers and used a huge sheet of melamine on the top and screwed them all together. The flamingo details just make me so happy! You can purchase them…
