  • Park Home Reno: Entry Way Makeover

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. All opinions and product selections are my own.  Today is the first reveal of our new house and what better place to start than the entry way to the home! I started by painting all of the walls white (Behr-Frost) and the door a rich navy (Behr-Starless Night). Next I hung this amazing light from The Home Depot. This 6-Light Aged Bronze Pendant with Wood Accents is by Home Decorators Collection and it was my inspiration for the whole space. I installed these dimmable LED Clear vintage style light bulbs by FEIT Electric and they were exactly what this light and this space needed. The vintage feel of the lights really set the tone for the whole space. I love that they look vintage and have so much character but that they are also dimmable LEDs! Doesn’t the amber filament look so cool with the wood tone of the chandelier?  They compliment each other perfectly! These would also look amazing in a lamp or another fixture and they’re even cool to the…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Sources

As promised, I’m back today with the sources for everything in our master bedroom. If you missed it, you can check out the master bedroom reveal here. I’ll start with the furniture because that is the bare foundation of the room, in my opinion. The dressers and side tables are from the Hemnes from Ikea. I got them about 2 years ago and they’ve been great. The pink tufted bench is from Wayfair. You can find it online here: Upholstered Bedroom Bench. This ceiling fan needs a full-fledge standing ovation or a round of applause at least. I mean, I have never LOVED a ceiling fan because from a design stand point, there are few that aren’t an eyesore. This is the opposite. I have had SO many questions about it and I feel like that’s why we can agree that this one takes the cake. I was lucky enough to have the amazing Hepburn Fan sent to me by Hunter Fan Company and I will literally shout from the rooftops proclaiming my love for it. It has a custom switch on…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Half Bathroom Flooring Done Cheap and Easy- Our $50 Makeover

In our Modern Ranch Reno we have three different bathrooms. We have the kids bathroom, we have this half bathroom by the office, and we have the master bathroom. We have spent a good amount of our budget throughout the house and on other projects that have had more priority at this time. But I was tired of looking at my plain bathroom and wanting to change up a few things to make it a little bit more fun and a little bit more my style. For under $50 I was able to make over our half bathroom flooring and it changed everything!! I’m really excited to share all the details with you. Here is a little sneak peek. Before I share more details I wanted to show you what the bathroom looked like when we moved in. This bathroom had a nasty pull chain toilet and green wood paneling. The bathroom vanity was in decent shape but it was an orangey wood color and I didn’t love the fact that you really noticed the white bowl. BEFORE: We removed…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Makeover

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Stearns & Foster. The opinions and text are all mine. Hello friends! I’m so excited to be sharing my master bedroom reveal with you today! It’s a colorful mix of traditional, modern and a splash of farmhouse and I absolutely l love it! Last week I shared my plan for refreshing the space!   Let’s chat mattresses for a sec. Guys, no matter how much work, time, energy, etc you put into your space, the most important thing about designing a space is that it functions for you to the best of you and the room’s ability. Have you ever been to a beautiful hotel but the bed was so uncomfortable you couldn’t sleep? Maybe you visited a restaurant that had a great atmosphere and looked great but the food was awful? PRIORITIES people. If your master bedroom is not a place you can completely relax and recover from your day’s work, what’s the point? Why design a beautiful space unless it does it’s job?  A good night’s sleep…

  • Surprise Teen Girl’s Bedroom Makeover

Today’s teen girl’s room makeover is very, very special to me and near and dear to my heart. Several months ago, I found out that one of my kid’s favorite babysitters, Karli (a teenager we met at church) was soon to undergo major surgery from her pectus excavatum. Pectus excavatum is a congenital disorder which causes the chest to have a sunken or “caved in” appearance. It is the most common congenital chest wall abnormality in children. Often times, this issue is only cosmetic but with our sweet friend Karli, her chest was caving in and pressing on her heart, causing her a number of issues. Karli recently had her surgery to have this corrected, which is a crazy, extensive surgery and has caused her an incredible amount of pain. About a month before her surgery, her mother and I had the idea to surprise her with a bedroom makeover while she was in the hospital having surgery so she would have a special place to come home to recover and hopefully, lift her spirits a bit at this tremendously difficult time…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bathroom Reveal

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. The opinions and text are all mine. Friends, I am so beyond excited and elated to finally reveal my master bathroom renovation with you! For the last, roughly, two months, I have put every extra moment of my time and 110% of my energy into renovating this space. When we moved in, it was a very small bathroom that was separated by a wall to our, also small, walk-in closet. The previous space didn’t make the best use of the square footage available. We lost our walk-in closet but we still have another reach-in closet in our room that is plenty of storage space for my husband and I. You can check out all of the before pictures and get an idea of the previous layout in this post. Here is my inspiration board for the space! We partnered with one of our all-time favorite stores, Floor & Decor for all of the tile in this space. They have THE BEST in-stock selection and rock bottom…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Shared Space Room Makeover

Hello friends! I’m so excited to share my boys’ new space with you! A couple months ago, my kids started begging to sleep together. I have 4 little boys and 2 of them shared a room with a twin bed and the other two shared a room with two twin beds (See last space/astronaut bedroom makeover here). After a lot 0f thought and several “trial nights” we decided we’d let them all share a room. This was the BEST decision ever for our kids! They have the BEST time together, they love their room and I know they’ll have countless late nights making memories together. Side note: Today Parker asked me if we can switch it to a Skylanders room and sorry bud, not gonna happen. lol! I measured the longest wall in the room and literally went over every possible situation for squeezing 4 beds into the room. I thought about building my own and shopped every single possible store for the right beds. A couple must-haves included: must be able to fit two sets of beds long-ways on…

  • Palm Springs Inspired Patio Decor

In the last few weeks here in Arizona we have had the most beautiful weather. This is my favorite time of year and because the weather has been so amazing we want to spend all of our time outside. Our patio decor needed a bit of a refresh. We have a covered back patio that has been freshly painted and we have a little plain outdoor couch set. We wanted the patio area to have a bit more color since the house is now black and white and the patio furniture is very neutral. I wanted the patio to have a Palm Springs vibe to it. I think that is exactly what I think I achieved. This is what the space looked like before. I was looking for some great outdoor patio décor that had a pop of color and some fun patterns to add to our plain patio chairs. I found everything that would make my back patio come to life on Annieselke.com. The first thing I found was this amazing coral and white pattern rug. It’s called the…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Master Bedroom Sofa

My master bedroom has been kind of a challenge. It’s a big room but it is a very long room. I did an epic accent wall on one side of the room and I really wanted the other side to be just as epic. I had room for a little sitting area and thats exactly what I wanted. I wanted a show stopper piece and I knew Joybird would have exactly what I was looking for. The best thing about Joybird is that their pieces are custom made and you get to choose the style of furniture and then you get to select the the fabric and the stain of the legs if you are choosing something like a sofa. For the Master Bedroom sofa I choose the Holloway Sofa in the color Dunhill Turquoise. The color is a bit darker and matches the wall color even though since its right next to the window it is reading a bit more blue in pictures. This color and texture of the couch is just so good. It mirrors the accent wall in…

Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makoever

This post is sponsored by Persil®. All ideas and opinions are our own, always! I am so excited to finally reveal my laundry room makeover. I have had it semi-done for months but I finally put the finishing touches on. Let’s journey back to where we began… This makeover was relatively easy for the result! Like a little effort went a really long way! First, I painted the walls… right over the wallpaper! We plan to shiplap this room soon so I didn’t want to go through the trouble of removing the wallpaper. I sanded the seams and tears in the wallpaper and painted it all a super light grey (almost white!) The paint color is Behr Silver Dust. I added shaker style trim to the cabinets and painted them white. I will eventually replace them with new cabinets that go up to the ceiling but these work great for now! I removed the old vinyl floors and replaced them with my favorite Thirties Vintage Tile. Its porcelain that looks like hand painted cement tile but for a fraction of the…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: The Perfect Sofa for my Office

I recently made some progress on my office.. And I’m really excited to share parts of it with you. A MAJOR part of my office is my new sofa. My office is a room that has kind of been one of the projects at the bottom of my list because it is on the opposite side of my house and no one really ever sees it, except for the fact when I have to go into work I do not feel inspired nor do I enjoy being in there longer than I need to be.  Can you even believe these before pictures… When we moved into the house the office had a horrible wallpaper and the shutters were wood but not in a trendy good wood tone… it was ugly and it all was very outdated.   We painted the shutters white and we got rid of the wallpaper and painted the walls a very very light grey so now I have a bit of a blank canvas. Now it’s a stunning room that just makes me so happy and…

Prescott View Home Reno: DIY Kitchen Remodel Reveal

The day has finally come!! It’s reveal day for my DIY Kitchen Remodel! Guys, literally blood, sweat, frustrated tears, curse words, changed minds, tears of joy (for real!) happened during this DIY kitchen remodel. I am SO dang proud of this space, not in like a braggy way but I’m just so glad all of the crazy ideas actually worked and that it’s finally done! I legit DIYed everything except the countertops, BY MYSELF! My hubby did help with the floors and because it takes approximately 1 million years to lay flooring alone but I’m so thrilled with the outcome of our hard work! Oh! My husband and his brother (our go-to electrician!) installed my lights too! I can’t take credit for that! LOL! Before we get on with the DIY Kitchen Remodel REVEAL here’s a refresher of the “before”. Since we moved in, I wanted a new layout/new cabinets but after getting quoted $7,000-10,000 for new cabinets,  I decided to wait on them. One night, laying in bed brainstorming (happens often!) I thought of a genius idea of rearranging the existing cabinets…
