  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room Reno Part 1 DEMO

One of the things that I loved about the Modern Ranch Reno was the Laundry Room. In our last house our Laundry Room shared a space with the door leading out the backyard and also the pantry. When our laundry was clean or dirty it really had not place to go which means it would end up every where. I was pumped that our new house had a real and separate Laundry Room. With that being said I also knew that it was going to need a face lift. The laundry room started out with plain tile, weird wallpaper, cabinets and sink. At first I loved the thought of a sink but after we lived with the sink for a while we decided that we could use the space better if we got rid of it. I would still love a sink in the garage someday or something but for now the sink had to go.  First thing we did was remove the upper cabinets. These were not great cabinets and outdated so we decided to replace them. Then we…

  • Park Home Reno: Entry Way Makeover

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. All opinions and product selections are my own.  Today is the first reveal of our new house and what better place to start than the entry way to the home! I started by painting all of the walls white (Behr-Frost) and the door a rich navy (Behr-Starless Night). Next I hung this amazing light from The Home Depot. This 6-Light Aged Bronze Pendant with Wood Accents is by Home Decorators Collection and it was my inspiration for the whole space. I installed these dimmable LED Clear vintage style light bulbs by FEIT Electric and they were exactly what this light and this space needed. The vintage feel of the lights really set the tone for the whole space. I love that they look vintage and have so much character but that they are also dimmable LEDs! Doesn’t the amber filament look so cool with the wood tone of the chandelier?  They compliment each other perfectly! These would also look amazing in a lamp or another fixture and they’re even cool to the…

  • Park Home Reno: Move in Day

Hi friends! It’s Mallory – I’m so excited to finally show you guys our new house!!!! We closed on the old house today so it’s officially gone! So bittersweet! We’ve been in our new house for about a week and we are just so in love! We are slowly making it our own and it’s been so fun!!! I took some shots on move-in day to give you an idea of where we started. The previous owners (friends of ours!) only lived here for a year before finding their dream property just a few minutes away. They had done some MAJOR renovations to this home while they lived here so a ton of the hard work was done. They completely opened up the floor plan, redid all the floors, about 90% of the kitchen, some work in the bathrooms and some work in the basement to update it. This would have been a MASSIVE project without the work they did but luckily we swooped in and took over after the huge stuff was done. Lucky us! 😉 The home is…

    Saying Goodbye #mallorysprescottviewhome

Life is funny. A year ago, I was knee deep in renovation turning this 1700 square foot home into our little dream home. I had no idea that 13 months later, it would be sold and our family would be moving into our long-term dream home. We knew that it would be somewhat temporary but definitely not 13 months temporary. So I’m saying goodbye. We get the keys to our new house today. The home we are selling doesn’t close until the 14th and we are doing a prepossession on the new house. That basically means we rent until we close, which will be later this month. If you read this post, you know that we bought the new house from our friends here in Prescott. The new house is beautiful and we are so excited to do some fun projects and renovations to make it our own! Savannah is coming up to Prescott (a 2-hour drive from her house in Mesa) to help me start moving. She hasn’t seen our new house yet so I’m excited for her to…

  • DIY Pool Organizer

Summer in Arizona can only mean one thing, pool time! With temperatures reaching 100-120 degrees daily, we have spent hours and hours by the pool. We realized that pool activities require a bunch of accessories, toys, etc. We have pool floats, diving rings, goggles, towels, sunscreen and tons more. By the looks of our little shelving area, it was time for some color and a Pool Organizer. The shelving unit was working great but the bins were very sad looking and my kids just threw everything everywhere when it was time to clean up.  When we don’t have a system in place, they just aren’t sure where things go and it tends to get disorganized very quickly. We decided to replace the bins with some sturdy plastic bins in two different sizes to accommodate the different pool supplies that we had. We spray painted the bins with Krylon Outdoor Décor spray paint in Satin Bluegrass. I love the cool blue/green color that reminds me of the crisp, cool pool water! It took 2-3 coats of Krylon Outdoor Décor spray paint…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Sources

As promised, I’m back today with the sources for everything in our master bedroom. If you missed it, you can check out the master bedroom reveal here. I’ll start with the furniture because that is the bare foundation of the room, in my opinion. The dressers and side tables are from the Hemnes from Ikea. I got them about 2 years ago and they’ve been great. The pink tufted bench is from Wayfair. You can find it online here: Upholstered Bedroom Bench. This ceiling fan needs a full-fledge standing ovation or a round of applause at least. I mean, I have never LOVED a ceiling fan because from a design stand point, there are few that aren’t an eyesore. This is the opposite. I have had SO many questions about it and I feel like that’s why we can agree that this one takes the cake. I was lucky enough to have the amazing Hepburn Fan sent to me by Hunter Fan Company and I will literally shout from the rooftops proclaiming my love for it. It has a custom switch on…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Half Bathroom Flooring Done Cheap and Easy- Our $50 Makeover

In our Modern Ranch Reno we have three different bathrooms. We have the kids bathroom, we have this half bathroom by the office, and we have the master bathroom. We have spent a good amount of our budget throughout the house and on other projects that have had more priority at this time. But I was tired of looking at my plain bathroom and wanting to change up a few things to make it a little bit more fun and a little bit more my style. For under $50 I was able to make over our half bathroom flooring and it changed everything!! I’m really excited to share all the details with you. Here is a little sneak peek. Before I share more details I wanted to show you what the bathroom looked like when we moved in. This bathroom had a nasty pull chain toilet and green wood paneling. The bathroom vanity was in decent shape but it was an orangey wood color and I didn’t love the fact that you really noticed the white bowl. BEFORE: We removed…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Makeover

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Stearns & Foster. The opinions and text are all mine for my Master Bedroom Makeover Hello friends! I’m so excited to be sharing my master bedroom makeover reveal with you today! It’s a colorful mix of traditional, modern and a splash of farmhouse and I absolutely l love it! Last week I shared my plan for refreshing the space!   Let’s chat mattresses for a sec. Guys, no matter how much work, time, energy, etc you put into your space, the most important thing about designing a space is that it functions for you to the best of you and the room’s ability. Have you ever been to a beautiful hotel but the bed was so uncomfortable you couldn’t sleep? Maybe you visited a restaurant that had a great atmosphere and looked great but the food was awful? PRIORITIES people. If your master bedroom is not a place you can completely relax and recover from your day’s work, what’s the point? Why design a beautiful space unless it does…

  • Our closet makeovers with The Container Store and HGTV Magazine

Our closet makeovers with The Container Store and HGTV Magazine We’re so excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with The Container Store to give some of our closet makeovers! This was SUCH fantastic timing because our closets were a mess. I am an organizing junkie but after moving our 4 boys into one bedroom, the clothing and organizing situation was a bit out of control. Before The Container Store came to the rescue, we had dressers stacked up on each other in this pink wallpapered closet. Not ideal for my little boys. Oh, we also had half of the clothes in the playroom. Again, not ideal. The day before the amazing installer from The Container Store came to my house, we removed the pink wallpaper and repainted the closet to match the boys’ bedroom. We also removed the doors and will eventually install French doors to the space but now that the closet makeovers looks great, I’m not in a hurry to hide it with doors. The Container Store installed the elfa Custom Closet system for my boys. I am literally shocked…

Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Before

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Stearns & Foster. The opinions and text are all mine. Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Before & Plans I am finally getting around to sharing the plans for my master bedroom! It’s pretty much the last space in the house I haven’t shown much of. I have changed my entire design for this space like 3 times over the last year and I am happy to say I’ve finally figured out what I want! Yeah… it only took a year! Here is my Master Bedroom Before the new makeover. Here’s where my Master Bedroom Before looks like move-in day last June. I brought the furniture from our old house and it sat like that for a long time. Months later I painted all the trim and crown moulding black and decided I liked a more moody vibe. Then I changed my mind. Again. I repainted it all white and knew I needed a brighter, more airy looking space. I installed shiplap, grabbed some new mirrors, a rug, lamps and some…

  • When plans change Moving Homes

When plans change Moving Homes A few weeks ago, a friend of mine texted me about a fixer upper potential dream home she’d had her eye on for several months. Her and her husband (who happen to be my realtors when I moved to Prescott) decided to put an offer on their dream fixer upper. This wasn’t new info for me as we’d discussed the idea and even went to look at the house a couple times. You know how if you love something let it go and if it comes back, it’s meant to be. That was kind of her situation with this house.  Now where do I come in…? Well this friend of mine currently lives in a home that happens to be my dream fixer upper. Now, I use the term fixer upper very loosely because her house is beautiful but still unfinished. I always joked with them that if they ever sold their house, I get first dibs. Turns out, they took me semi-seriously and asked if I was interested as soon as they knew they were…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Our Black and White Exterior Paint

Paint can make or break a house. I am so grateful that we have been able to partner with Behr Paint on one the biggest changes that we have made on our house. Exterior Paint. When we first drove by our house when it was up for sale it had been listed for 6 months no one had lived there for awhile and everything was totally over grown and out of control. The outside was a mess. The house looked totally outdated and it was far from looking like the modern house that we had been looking for. We searched forever for a house to buy and we REALLY REALLY wanted to stay in the same neighborhood that we were already in. We drove by this one a million times and with a little bit of imagination we started to look at this house differently. Cleaning up the landscape with be a game changer and more importantly paint the house would change everything about the house that I hated. When I say that paint is life changing I mean just…
