  • Modern Ranch Reno: Our sink is more than just a sink.

Our kitchen sink is just so much more than a sink. It’s the center of where everything happens at our house. I did this cute video of my family and the role that our kitchen sinks plays in our home. Our meal was nothing fancy and my kids were not always happy and having fun, but it is our life and I do love my life. Elkay is a family owned company with amazing values. When we went to Chicago to visit, I was so touched that the employees had all worked there for a crazy long time. When one of the employees that we worked with at Elkay was on Maternity leave and the CEO saw her at the event and he was so happy to see her there and greeted her a big hug and asked all about the new baby and all the changes that had happened in her life. I could tell that he really did care about his employees and about the people that make the company work. There is something to be said for…

  • Decorating Your Home For The Holidays

This article is sponsored by Walmart and SheKnows Media. Thank you guys for all of the incredibly sweet comments on my living room reveal! When you pour your heart and all your ideas into a space, it’s SO nice when you all love it too! So, thank you!!! Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought I’d show you my living room’s holiday makeover I did with Walmart! I have always had holiday decorations from Walmart in my home so I was thrilled to see that they carried literally everything I wanted for this year’s decor! I found all these items in store but you can find a number of them online too. I knew I wanted a snowy, traditional look with layers of white and pops of red. I haven’t used red in my holiday decor since 2010 and my husband always says he misses red because it “feels more like Christmas”. So, the red is back and it totally FEELS like the holidays in our home now! I wanted to do a little something different for our…

  • Park Home Reno: Living Room Makeover

I’m so excited to share this space today! I decided to take a few photos before I got my Christmas decor up this year. We still have a few things to do in this room but here it is for now! This is what the front room looked like when we first moved in. It’s literally the exact view right when you walk into our house. First, I painted all of the walls Behr Frost (satin) and the navy wall is Behr Starless Night (flat), my FAVORITE navy right now. We installed Reverie Sputnik Chandelier from Lucent Light Shop. I built the mantel using the same method as I did in my old house. You can get that tutorial here. DIY Fireplace Mantel. I’ve linked all of the sources for where I got everything at the end of the post after the photos.   I love my blue/white glass collection and I actually have a new place for the collection to go soon but I’ve loved collecting these lamps, jars, vases etc! • Blue and Orange Thanksgiving Tablescape

I honestly can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving! It has really come so fast. I know everyone always says that but still! I sort of got “last minute” thrown into hosting a few family members for Thanksgiving and I’m a little nervous! Cooking for other people gives me some mad anxiety. Luckily, my hubby is a great cook and he’s totally taking charge of the turkey. I think I can handle the rest… ish… Our dining room isn’t quite “done” but I got it ll painted and my favorite light hung up. You can find the Linear Cage Chandelier here. I still need to get my window seats reupholstered, find some pillows for them and maybe do something fun/creative on the walls. Since I’m not a big “hostess” I wasn’t sure if/how I should decorate the table but then I saw this gorgeous tablescape from Pizzazzerie and since I had all of the blue and white glassware, I figured I could pull something similar together! I basically assembled some of my glassware and added a ton of fall foliage stems to…

  • DIY Christmas Wreath and Front Porch

This post is sponsored by JOANN. All opinions and ideas are our own. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I am SO excited!! This year Christmastime will bring so many gifts to my family and I! During the Christmas season we’ll be welcoming our fifth baby boy into our family and I will finally get my boot off of my broken foot and be able to walk again! YAY! How’s that for an eventful Christmas!? To get into the spirit, I headed to JOANN and grabbed some festive items to give my front porch a makeover! I wanted to make a new wreath to compliment our newly painted, red, front door! We painted our house navy blue over the summer and I have been itching to paint the door red and it was perfect timing for the holidays! For the wreath, I was leaning toward something traditional but we wanted to put a unique, modern twist to it so Savannah and I decided to make a wreath out of a picture frame! I absolutely LOVE the rectangular shape…

  • DIY Fall Entry Way

This post is sponsored by Krylon® Brand.. All ideas and opinions are our own. Fall is by far one of our favorite times of the year.  It seems like we wait all year for the temperatures to drop down to an enjoyable level. This year, I decided to give my entryway area a fall refresh to bring that feeling I love into my home with Krylon®) Brand. My old entry table was starting to look tired and worn but I absolutely love this piece so I knew it was time for a makeover. I used 3 cans of Krylon® ColorMaster™ Paint + Primer in Hunter Green It took 2-3 coats to cover the previous paint color. I absolutely love the vibrant green that is so on trend right now in home decor and interior design. I finished off the piece by painting the knobs with 3 coats of Krylon Premium Metallic in Copper Foil. I used less than a can for all of the knobs. I always like to do an extra coat of paint on things that will be handled…

  • Park Home Reno: Master Bedroom Reveal

It’s finally time for my master bedroom reveal in our new house. I was still loving our old room when we moved but when you move, you kind of want a fresh start sometimes so I made a few tweaks from our old bedroom and did a full refresh! Here’s what the space looked like on move-in day! I repainted the room in Behr Frost (the white I used throughout my house) and got a new rose gold canopy bed and that really set the stage for the makeover. PS. I’ll list all sources at the end of the post. 🙂 I have reused my dressers and nightstands in (now) 3 room makeovers so all those hours putting together Ikea furniture was worth it. I’m actually surprised at how well the Ikea furniture has held up. I really love how the space turned out! It feels clean, cozy and romantic which is the feeling I was after in this space. I’ve linked the sources for everything in the room below. Bedding: White Duvet – Jane.com Grey Sheets – Jane.com White/Grey Euro Shams…

  • Park Home Reno: DIY Laundry Pedestal

Supplies: 10x2s MDF 2″ Nails Pnuematic Nailer or good hammering skills Miter Saw Trim (baseboard trim, 1-2″ lattice trim) Caulk Paint This is a project we’ve wanted to tackle since we got our new washer and dryer a couple months ago. I absolutely love front load machines but having them a bit higher is super convenient. You know what’s not convenient? Pedestals that cost 1 million dollars. Some of them are SO expensive! We knew we could DIY some for a fraction of the cost and get a more custom “built in” look. Just a heads up, everyone’s measurements are going to be a bit different. We’ve built these before and it definitely needs to be customized to your own space. That being said, I can’t give you exact measurements and a cut list for your wood. First, remove your washer and dryer so you can carefully examine how much space you acutally have. Measuring from wall to wall, wall to cabinet, etc. is not very accurate because there are other factors, like your dryer vent, outlets, etc. you’ll want…

  • Park Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover

Hi friends! Mallory here! I’m still alive and I am excited to finally be sharing a room makeover with you all! This pregnancy and broken foot have really slowed me down! haha! The laundry room, as you can imagine, gets a lot of use in a family of 6 (almost 7!).  I have always felt that its easier to do tasks that you don’t particularly like when you enjoy the space you’re in. Luckily, this was not a huge renovation and mostly needed cosmetic upgrades to fit our style and a few changes for the function of the space.  The previous owners (and our dear friends!) installed beautiful wood-looking tile, new cabinets and a beautiful countertop which already provided an excellent layout and function to the space. We were due for a little upgrade, mostly regarding size, of our old washer and dryer! We worked with Home Depot and ordered a new washer and dryer online. Man, I love ordering things online and The Home Depot makes it so easy. If you follow us on Instagram, you saw our stories…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room Part 4 The Backsplash

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. The opinions and text are all mine. I am excited that I get to show you the final part of my Modern Ranch Reno Laundry Room. My laundry room has been a major undertaking. If you have been following this laundry room renovation then you know that we came across some very unplanned things during this project. The Laundry Room has been in the works since July. But now that this space is done I can honestly say it has turned out even better then I thought it would. If you are new to this series you can see the laundry room Part 1: The Demo HERE, Part 2: Appliances HERE and Part 3: All the details on this stunning flooring HERE. After the flooring was installed I really fell in love this space! It was so beautiful and functional, but I felt like something was missing. I decided that I wanted another fun pattern and element in this laundry room and a decided a backsplash was…

  • DIY Antiqued Halloween Mirror and Halloween Mantel

This post is sponsored by Krylon. All ideas and opinions are our own, always!  Halloween is just around the corner and I’m so excited for an evening full of spooks and sweets! For this year’s Halloween decor, we are switching things up a bit and using purple as our feature color! We mad a really fun DIY Antiqued Spooky Mirror and spray painted some pumpkins with some of our favorite Krylon products. First, we made the DIY Antiqued Spooky Mirror by using a framed mirror and distressing the glass, painting the frame and adding a Halloween quote with vinyl lettering. DIY Antiqued Spooky Mirror Supplies: Mirror Paint Thinner Metal Putty Knife Protective equipment (rubber gloves, mask, protective glasses) Muriatic Acid Plastic Funnel Plastic Spray Bottle Painter’s Tape Krylon ColorMaster Gloss Purple Vinyl Lettering First, we removed the cardboard backing to expose the back of the glass. Next, we used paint thinner and a paint brush to cover the entire back of the glass with paint thinner. This removes the silver paint finish on the back of the glass. Make sure you…
