  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room Part 4 The Backsplash

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. The opinions and text are all mine. I am excited that I get to show you the final part of my Modern Ranch Reno Laundry Room. My laundry room has been a major undertaking. If you have been following this laundry room renovation then you know that we came across some very unplanned things during this project. The Laundry Room has been in the works since July. But now that this space is done I can honestly say it has turned out even better then I thought it would. If you are new to this series you can see the laundry room Part 1: The Demo HERE, Part 2: Appliances HERE and Part 3: All the details on this stunning flooring HERE. After the flooring was installed I really fell in love this space! It was so beautiful and functional, but I felt like something was missing. I decided that I wanted another fun pattern and element in this laundry room and a decided a backsplash was…

Many of you saw our sneak peek on Instagram stories and you were excited about it too which makes us EVEN MORE excited! We’ve partnered with Fiskars in celebration of the 50th anniversary of their iconic Orange-handled Scissors! The color of the scissors inspired us to create a bit of a throwback project to the popular 1960’s trend, macramé! And, Fiskars Orange-handled Scissors were also a product of the 1960’s! We are so excited to celebrate 50 years with them! • Modern Ranch Reno: How to Re-Grout a Brick Fireplace

When I moved into my house one of the first things I was dying to get my hands on was this fireplace in our main family room. I wanted to try and re-grout the brick fireplace so that it looked more my style. I had never re-grouted before and I did not have any experience with brick but I really wanted to make it happen. I was shocked at how easy re-grouting my brick fireplace really was. I was able to re-grout my fireplace using 4 bags of white mortar and a little bit of hard work. I decided to make a video just for you to show you how easy it really was.   Here is a list of the materials: White Mortar or White Grout ( I showed the guy working at Marvel in Mesa, Az which is stone and brick store the size of the fireplace and he told me how many bags or mortar I needed.) Piping Bag Brick or tile Trowel Gloves  Bucket Grout Mixture Drill to use with grout mixture Water I love how…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: My New Kitchen Sink

This post is sponsored by Elkay. All opinions are our own. My kitchen has been through many different phases. I want to take you through all the phases so far of our kitchen. Let’s start at the beginning. When we moved into the house the kitchen was dark and not the light and bright look I was wanting in a kitchen. The kitchen is such an important part of our home. It’s were our family starts and ends the day. The cabinets were painted to make them look like they are cherry wood so the first thing I wanted to do was to paint the cabinets white. I got to work the week that we got the keys to the new house. I wanted the cabinets to be painted and ready right when we moved in. The next step of making my kitchen more of what I wanted was a backsplash. The only problem with a backsplash is I could not choose one that I was ready to commit to. I found an image on Pinterest that I loved of an…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room Reno Part 3 Flooring

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. The opinions and words are all mine.   We partnered with one of our favorite companies Floor & Decor to transform our dated laundry room into a sleek, chic and timeless laundry room that is perfect for our family. My laundry room was very dated. It had some 80’s wallpaper and plain tile and old cabinets. We had to overcome a few unexpected hurdles that we were not planning and I talked all about it in the demo part of this Laundry Room Renovation in Part 1 of this project HERE But before we even started the the demo on the laundry room we headed to Floor & Decor to pick out the tile that we would be using for this space. Floor & Decor does not only have incredibly helpful and also very knowledgeable employees in the store, there are SO many in stock options and great prices. You can read all about our Floor & Decor Store Tour HERE. Now on to the dirty…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room – Part 2 Appliances

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot but words and opinions are mine. When an appliance breaks it can be really stressful. It always seems to happen at the worse time. That is what happened when our washing machine broke. It was the middle of summer our kids were using a million towels because they were in and out of the pool so much and we had just returned from a family trip and we were leaving for a ten day camping trip. The timing was not the best. We had planned on doing a full laundry room renovation and when the washer went out we decided that now was a perfect time to start this big project. Before we even started the renovations my number one priority was getting a new washer and dryer. The center of any laundry room is a washer and dryer and getting the right appliance is always such a big decision. When we decided to redo our laundry room we decided that we were going to do two sets of washers and dryers.…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Choosing finishes for a bathroom renovation

This post was brought to you by the Delta Faucet Company. I received free product from Delta Faucet to write this post, but all opinions expressed are my own. Hello friends! I am so excited to finally be sharing more info about my recent bathroom makeover! It was my biggest undertaking to date but I am so thrilled with the turn out. For this space, I knew I wanted a primarily “white” bathroom. I chose white finishes, white paint and a lot of marble which had variations of white and grey in it. I knew I’d accessorize with a bit of color and I wanted a warm metal (gold, brass, bronze) to accent the space. When shopping for bathroom fixtures, I was drawn to Delta’s Champagne Bronze finish and this sealed the deal for my decision. I knew the warm metal finish would really pop against all of the white in the space. For the bathtub, I chose the Cassidy Roman Tub and Hand shower trim in Champagne Bronze, of course! I absolutely love the lines of this piece and…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Laundry Room Reno Part 1 DEMO

One of the things that I loved about the Modern Ranch Reno was the Laundry Room. In our last house our Laundry Room shared a space with the door leading out the backyard and also the pantry. When our laundry was clean or dirty it really had not place to go which means it would end up every where. I was pumped that our new house had a real and separate Laundry Room. With that being said I also knew that it was going to need a face lift. The laundry room started out with plain tile, weird wallpaper, cabinets and sink. At first I loved the thought of a sink but after we lived with the sink for a while we decided that we could use the space better if we got rid of it. I would still love a sink in the garage someday or something but for now the sink had to go.  First thing we did was remove the upper cabinets. These were not great cabinets and outdated so we decided to replace them. Then we…

  • Park Home Reno: Entry Way Makeover

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. All opinions and product selections are my own.  Today is the first reveal of our new house and what better place to start than the entry way to the home! I started by painting all of the walls white (Behr-Frost) and the door a rich navy (Behr-Starless Night). Next I hung this amazing light from The Home Depot. This 6-Light Aged Bronze Pendant with Wood Accents is by Home Decorators Collection and it was my inspiration for the whole space. I installed these dimmable LED Clear vintage style light bulbs by FEIT Electric and they were exactly what this light and this space needed. The vintage feel of the lights really set the tone for the whole space. I love that they look vintage and have so much character but that they are also dimmable LEDs! Doesn’t the amber filament look so cool with the wood tone of the chandelier?  They compliment each other perfectly! These would also look amazing in a lamp or another fixture and they’re even cool to the…

  • Park Home Reno: Move in Day

Hi friends! It’s Mallory – I’m so excited to finally show you guys our new house!!!! We closed on the old house today so it’s officially gone! So bittersweet! We’ve been in our new house for about a week and we are just so in love! We are slowly making it our own and it’s been so fun!!! I took some shots on move-in day to give you an idea of where we started. The previous owners (friends of ours!) only lived here for a year before finding their dream property just a few minutes away. They had done some MAJOR renovations to this home while they lived here so a ton of the hard work was done. They completely opened up the floor plan, redid all the floors, about 90% of the kitchen, some work in the bathrooms and some work in the basement to update it. This would have been a MASSIVE project without the work they did but luckily we swooped in and took over after the huge stuff was done. Lucky us! 😉 The home is…
