  • Our closet makeovers with The Container Store and HGTV Magazine

We’re so excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with The Container Store to give some of our closets a makeover! This was SUCH fantastic timing because our closets were a mess. I am an organizing junkie but after moving our 4 boys into one bedroom, the clothing and organizing situation was a bit out of control. Before The Container Store came to the rescue, we had dressers stacked up on each other in this pink wallpapered closet. Not ideal for my little boys. Oh, we also had half of the clothes in the playroom. Again, not ideal. The day before the amazing installer from The Container Store came to my house, we removed the pink wallpaper and repainted the closet to match the boys’ bedroom. We also removed the doors and will eventually install French doors to the space but now that the closet looks great, I’m not in a hurry to hide it with doors. The Container Store installed the elfa Custom Closet system for my boys. I am literally shocked at how functional this closet is and how much stuff…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bedroom Before & Plans

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Stearns & Foster. The opinions and text are all mine. I am finally getting around to sharing the plans for my master bedroom! It’s pretty much the last space in the house I haven’t shown much of. I have changed my entire design for this space like 3 times over the last year and I am happy to say I’ve finally figured out what I want! Yeah… it only took a year! Here’s where the room started on move-in day last June. I brought the furniture from our old house and it sat like that for a long time. Months later I painted all the trim and crown moulding black and decided I liked a more moody vibe. Then I changed my mind. Again. I repainted it all white and knew I needed a brighter, more airy looking space. I installed shiplap, grabbed some new mirrors, a rug, lamps and some throw pillows. I was LOVING the direction I was headed but I knew I wasn’t quite there. To…

  • When plans change.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine texted me about a fixer upper potential dream home she’d had her eye on for several months. Her and her husband (who happen to be my realtors when I moved to Prescott) decided to put an offer on their dream fixer upper. This wasn’t new info for me as we’d discussed the idea and even went to look at the house a couple times. You know how if you love something let it go and if it comes back, it’s meant to be. That was kind of her situation with this house. Now where do I come in…? Well this friend of mine currently lives in a home that happens to be my dream fixer upper. Now, I use the term fixer upper very loosely because her house is beautiful but still unfinished. I always joked with them that if they ever sold their house, I get first dibs. Turns out, they took me semi-seriously and asked if I was interested as soon as they knew they were probably moving. I was in. I…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Our Black and White Exterior Paint

Paint can make or break a house. I am so grateful that we have been able to partner with Behr Paint on one the biggest changes that we have made on our house. Exterior Paint. When we first drove by our house when it was up for sale it had been listed for 6 months no one had lived there for awhile and everything was totally over grown and out of control. The outside was a mess. The house looked totally outdated and it was far from looking like the modern house that we had been looking for. We searched forever for a house to buy and we REALLY REALLY wanted to stay in the same neighborhood that we were already in. We drove by this one a million times and with a little bit of imagination we started to look at this house differently. Cleaning up the landscape with be a game changer and more importantly paint the house would change everything about the house that I hated. When I say that paint is life changing I mean just…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Master Bathroom Reveal

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. The opinions and text are all mine. Friends, I am so beyond excited and elated to finally reveal my master bathroom renovation with you! For the last, roughly, two months, I have put every extra moment of my time and 110% of my energy into renovating this space. When we moved in, it was a very small bathroom that was separated by a wall to our, also small, walk-in closet. The previous space didn’t make the best use of the square footage available. We lost our walk-in closet but we still have another reach-in closet in our room that is plenty of storage space for my husband and I. You can check out all of the before pictures and get an idea of the previous layout in this post. Here is my inspiration board for the space! We partnered with one of our all-time favorite stores, Floor & Decor for all of the tile in this space. They have THE BEST in-stock selection and rock bottom…

  • DIY Spray Painted Barstools

When I moved into my new house one of the things I fell in love with was this covered back patio. I loved that I had a little countertop just off of my kitchen window. I could just imagine feeding my kids out the kitchen window as they played outside. I wanted to do some fun DIY barstools and when I fell in love with this fabric I knew that the perfect accent color for the barstools would be ColorMaster® Paint + Primer in Sun Yellow by Krylon. I got these tired looking barstools from my neighbors next-door that were getting rid of them. I knew it would be a quick and easy fix to give them some new life. Some of the wood was rotting out from them and also the fabric just wasn’t my style. First I collected all of my products that I would need to complete the project I ordered this fabric online. It has really great green colors with a little bit of yellow through some of the leaves. I also got a few cans of Krylon’s…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: How to install wallpaper

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a tutorial on how to install wallpaper! I have only done this a couple times but I’ve compiled my tips on how to install wallpaper and found what I believe to be the easiest way. I am not a professional in the wallpaper department but I got professional results with the method I used for how to hang wallpaper! Disclaimer: I had zero desire and zero energy to load up my four kids and go buy fancy wallpapering supplies so I’ll show you what basic DIY supplies I used that worked 100% fine. I chose this Kumo Wallpaper from Anthropologie. I used 2 rolls for my 8×13′ wall making my project $156. TOTALLY worth it!!! I loved that it has the trendy shibori look but a little different. First, begin with a clean, dry and smooth (or semi smooth) wall. I have slightly textured walls and I thought about smoothing them out but since they’re smooth to the touch and its a matte paper, I decided to leave them. If you have a metallic paper or…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Shared Space Room Makeover

Hello friends! I’m so excited to share my boys’ new space with you! A couple months ago, my kids started begging to sleep together. I have 4 little boys and 2 of them shared a room with a twin bed and the other two shared a room with two twin beds (See last space/astronaut bedroom makeover here). After a lot 0f thought and several “trial nights” we decided we’d let them all share a room. This was the BEST decision ever for our kids! They have the BEST time together, they love their room and I know they’ll have countless late nights making memories together. Side note: Today Parker asked me if we can switch it to a Skylanders room and sorry bud, not gonna happen. lol! I measured the longest wall in the room and literally went over every possible situation for squeezing 4 beds into the room. I thought about building my own and shopped every single possible store for the right beds. A couple must-haves included: must be able to fit two sets of beds long-ways on…

  • Palm Springs Inspired Patio Decor

In the last few weeks here in Arizona we have had the most beautiful weather. This is my favorite time of year and because the weather has been so amazing we want to spend all of our time outside. Our patio decor needed a bit of a refresh. We have a covered back patio that has been freshly painted and we have a little plain outdoor couch set. We wanted the patio area to have a bit more color since the house is now black and white and the patio furniture is very neutral. I wanted the patio to have a Palm Springs vibe to it. I think that is exactly what I think I achieved. This is what the space looked like before. I was looking for some great outdoor patio décor that had a pop of color and some fun patterns to add to our plain patio chairs. I found everything that would make my back patio come to life on Annieselke.com. The first thing I found was this amazing coral and white pattern rug. It’s called the…

  • Modern Ranch Reno: Master Bedroom Sofa

My master bedroom has been kind of a challenge. It’s a big room but it is a very long room. I did an epic accent wall on one side of the room and I really wanted the other side to be just as epic. I had room for a little sitting area and thats exactly what I wanted. I wanted a show stopper piece and I knew Joybird would have exactly what I was looking for. The best thing about Joybird is that their pieces are custom made and you get to choose the style of furniture and then you get to select the the fabric and the stain of the legs if you are choosing something like a sofa. For the Master Bedroom sofa I choose the Holloway Sofa in the color Dunhill Turquoise. The color is a bit darker and matches the wall color even though since its right next to the window it is reading a bit more blue in pictures. This color and texture of the couch is just so good. It mirrors the accent wall in…

Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makoever

This post is sponsored by Persil®. All ideas and opinions are our own, always! I am so excited to finally reveal my laundry room makeover. I have had it semi-done for months but I finally put the finishing touches on. Let’s journey back to where we began… This makeover was relatively easy for the result! Like a little effort went a really long way! First, I painted the walls… right over the wallpaper! We plan to shiplap this room soon so I didn’t want to go through the trouble of removing the wallpaper. I sanded the seams and tears in the wallpaper and painted it all a super light grey (almost white!) The paint color is Behr Silver Dust. I added shaker style trim to the cabinets and painted them white. I will eventually replace them with new cabinets that go up to the ceiling but these work great for now! I removed the old vinyl floors and replaced them with my favorite Thirties Vintage Tile. Its porcelain that looks like hand painted cement tile but for a fraction of the…

  • Prescott View Home Reno: Garage Turned Office Makeover

Hi friends! I am so excited to reveal my office space with you today! FINALLY! I have rearranged it approximately 1.2 million times trying to find the perfect layout! This space is my 3rd car garage converted into a fully functioning home office. We removed the garage door motor and track, bolted the garage door shut then we insulated it, put down flooring and installed new lighting. I mainly run my vinyl decal business out of this space and do blog work from my in-home office. Here’s what it looked like before. After we put up the wall… Then I installed these Quick Step Floors that I LOVE! I love the white wash look and they’re my fave! Next, I installed these floor to ceiling cabinets for storage. These things hold a TON of stuff!!! I keep all my vinyl, my machines, shipping materials and inventory in them. They are insanely helpful and I love the look of them. They’re from the PAX collection at Ikea. The lights are the Kirch 4-light foyer pendants from Wayfair! The show stopper of…
