  • Blue and Orange Thanksgiving Tablescape

I honestly can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving! It has really come so fast. I know everyone always says that but still! I sort of got “last minute” thrown into hosting a few family members for Thanksgiving and I’m a little nervous! Cooking for other people gives me some mad anxiety. Luckily, my hubby is a great cook and he’s totally taking charge of the turkey. I think I can handle the rest… ish… Our dining room isn’t quite “done” but I got it ll painted and my favorite light hung up. You can find the Linear Cage Chandelier here. I still need to get my window seats reupholstered, find some pillows for them and maybe do something fun/creative on the walls. Since I’m not a big “hostess” I wasn’t sure if/how I should decorate the table but then I saw this gorgeous tablescape from Pizzazzerie and since I had all of the blue and white glassware, I figured I could pull something similar together! I basically assembled some of my glassware and added a ton of fall foliage stems to…

  • DIY Fall Mantle Decor

I am excited to share this year’s fall mantle with all of you. This year with my mantle I wanted a very clean and classic look with all the colors of fall. I had a hard time finding exactly what I wanted so I knew that I needed to DIY a few things to get the look I was going for. I found some fall leaves and branches but I could not find a vase that I liked to go with the branches. Here is where the DIY comes in, I found a few plain glass vases and using some Krylon® Spray Paint I totally transformed them. I started by using the Krylon® Shimmer Metallic Candy Corn  spray paint and sprayed the top half of the vase. Always be sure to read product label for proper application and safety instructions. This Shimmer Metallic spray has the perfect amount of shimmer to it. It adds a bit more movement and dimension then just plain orange spray paint. After the top of the vase was dry I taped off the top half of the vase. I…

  • DIY Engraved Metal Placecards + Silhouette Black Friday DEALS!

We’re SO pumped to share the new Silhouette Curio machine and Black Friday Deals with you guys today! We made these adorable Gold Engraved Metal Placecards for Thanksgiving and they were a huge hit at Thanksgiving dinner! We used the NEW Silhouette Curio to engrave the metal and it was so easy and they turned out gorgeous! We used these thin sheets of metal from the hardware store and cut them in half to 4″ x 5″. This was big enough to cut two at a time. We used two of the platforms on the base then the embossing mat on top of that. Clip them into place with the side clips. Place the metal sheets on your embossing mat and loaded it into the Curio. Settings: We selected the Metal Engraving Sheets for the Media and used speed of 3 and depth of 33. We used the regular cutting blade at 10 to get a deep cut. Once it finished engraving, we cut it in half with scissors and then used used a rotary paper trimmer to score the center…

  • Halloween Ideas: Crackled and Studded Pumpkins

This post is sponsored by DecoArt. All opinions, ideas and photography is my own.     Materials: Faux Pumpkin Metallic Paint DecoArt Media Crackle Paste Soft Paint Brush Brass Upholstery Tacks (Thumbtacks might work too!) Small Hammer   Instructions: Start with a painted pumpkin. I had these gold pumpkins that I had spray painted gold so I couldn’t wait to try this. You can also use DecoArt Fluid Acrylics to paint your pumpkin. This will be the color of the cracks and flakes after you paint your pumpkin with the crackle paste. This is basically magic in a tub. When I opened the little jar it was thick like frosting and I literally said “what!?” out loud. It says paste right on it but for some reason I wasn’t expecting the consistency. I gave it a go and now I wanna crackle everything. Using my soft brush (I love this brush so much! I use it for everything. You can get one here.) I painted the entire pumpkin with a thick coat of DecoArt Media Crackle Paste and let it…

  • Festive Fall Entertaining: Fall Table Ideas

This post is sponsored by Target. All opinions and statements are my own.  Fall is in full swing, and we are so excited to be planning for family feasts and gatherings that the fall season brings. We can’t wait to take our kids apple picking and to the pumpkin patch this year! Fall is our favorite time of year for so many reasons but we love how it is the best time to bring family together and host meals and gatherings together. This year we let the pumpkin patch inspire our Fall dinner table. We chose rustic elements and super trendy metallics with warm colors for this year’s gathering. To start off our tablescape, we used a roll of brown wrapping paper as a table runner and added a layer of white cheesecloth for some texture. From there we added a rustic box full of faux pumpkins that we spray painted gold. Then we added some twigs, branches and fall foliage to the box for an easy centerpiece. We also LOVE candles and what’s better than a candlelit fall meal? Probably nothing! We got…

  • Paper Flower Centerpiece

Wow! We must be on a gold and white kick right now! We are loving the color combo and loving florals right now too! I made this really fun centerpiece with only paper, glue and sticks! What!? Yep, that’s all you need. and a little paint if you want your sticks to be gold like mine. Supplies: Silhouette machine Silhouette cutting mat Gold glittered sticks from Wal-Mart in the holiday section (similar here) Extra twigs from outside Gold Spray Paint (optional) White Cardstock Brown Cardstock Hot glue Hot glue gun Instructions: For this centerpiece I found these glittered branches from Wal-Mart and I added some branches from my yard. I spray painted mine gold but you could totally leave them raw if you wanted. I arranged the twigs together and hot glued them where I needed them to stay. Once I had them arranged, I used my Silhouette CAMEO and my cutting mat to cut out the flowers. These are the flowers I used. Download the 3D Lisianthus Flower here. Download the 3D Gardenia Flower here. I cut the flowers out…
