When you pour your heart and all your ideas into a space, it’s SO nice when you all love it too! We recently renovated this space and it turned out amazing! Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought I’d show you my living room’s holiday makeover I did with Walmart! I have always had holiday decorations from Walmart in my home so I was thrilled to see that they carried literally everything I wanted for this year’s decor! All these items were in store, but you can find a number of them online too. I knew I wanted a snowy, traditional look with layers of white and pops of red. I haven’t used red in my holiday decor since 2010 and my husband always says he misses red because it “feels more like Christmas”. So, the red is back and it totally FEELS like the holidays in our home now!

Decorating the Trees

I wanted to do a little something different for our trees this year. Instead of one (or two!) I went a little crazy and did three Christmas trees and I absolutely love it! I got two 7.5′ flocked Christmas trees from Walmart and since I wanted them at staggering heights, I put one of them on a couple little wooden crates to raise it up a bit. This saved me hundreds of dollars versus purchasing a 9-foot tree. I couldn’t believe the quality and the price of these 7.5′ flocked trees. They are honestly gorgeous and put off the most beautiful glow when the lights are turned on. I want to keep them forever! I also snagged a 6′ flocked tree for the smallest one. The little guy may be my favorite. It also took like 10 minutes to decorate so that’s a plus! This one is not pre-lit so I wrapped one string of white (since it’s a flocked tree) string lights around it.

To fill so many trees, I decided to add some larger decor elements into the trees. You can wire it to the tree if you need to but I usually wedge them in and manipulate the branches a little bit to hold them in place. This has always worked really well for me.

Here are some of my favorite larger decor / ornaments from Walmart:

  • Medium Christmas Gift Boxes
  • Peach Church Lighted Sign
  • Church Figurine Table Decor
  • Noel Wood Sign
  • NOEL Letter Set

For the tops of the trees, I used a variety of greenery and Christmas floral picks from Walmart. Then I filled in the trees with holiday ribbon, faux poinsettias, and a variety of bulbs and ornaments, all from Walmart.

I added 9ft flocked garlands to my mantel and banister. These are my favorite. They look so festive and the quality (and the price!) is amazing.

I also added these adorable white pom pom stockings to my mantel as well. The velvet and the pom poms are just darling!

I also hung these 24″ flocked Christmas wreaths on my french doors and on our mirror on the mantel. I tied a red satin bow on each one to make it a little more festive. You guys, these wreaths are my favorite! They look so gorgeous and the greenery is so realistic!

Finally, I added a two white Believe & Joy Throw Pillows to our sofa and two Sweater and Wood Sign Throw Pillows to our chairs to make the space feel cozy and comfortable.

I honestly can’t believe I was able to get my trees and all of my holiday decor at Walmart in one, quick and easy shopping trip! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and we are so ready for our holiday guests! Hope everyone has a safe and merry holiday season!

  1. Gorgeous and love the idea of using a box/tree skirt for different heights! But I have to know – how do you store all this stuff in the off season??
