Prescott View Home Reno: Laundry Room Makeover

I am so excited to finally reveal my laundry room makeover. I have had it semi-done for months but I finally put the finishing touches on. Let’s journey back to where we began…

This makeover was relatively easy for the result! Like a little effort went a really long way! First, I painted the walls… right over the wallpaper! We plan to shiplap this room soon so I didn’t want to go through the trouble of removing the wallpaper. I sanded the seams and tears in the wallpaper and painted it all a super light grey (almost white!) The paint color is Behr Silver Dust.

I added shaker style trim to the cabinets and painted them white. I will eventually replace them with new cabinets that go up to the ceiling but these work great for now!

I removed the old vinyl floors and replaced them with my favorite Thirties Vintage Tile. Its porcelain that looks like hand painted cement tile but for a fraction of the price.

The pink door is a show stopper and I looooove the pop of color. The door color is Behr Everything’s Rosy.

I added shelves and a little faux wallpaper look to the nook next to the washer and dryer and replaced the clothing rail beneath them.

I ran to Target and picked up some cute accessories like the wreath, gold frames and the cute springy florals. I also styled it with some things I had around the house like this acrylic calendar I made a couple years ago.

You can get the tutorial here or purchase the calendar decal here.

I also grabbed my FAVORITE detergent ever, Persil Pro Clean because it’s now available in Target stores nationwide! Guys, I’m obsessed with this stuff. It smells so good and works like magic!

I chatted about it before when I showed you how to wash and dry your pillows and last summer when we talked about Summer Prep. Over two years later, still my fave! I am SO glad they have it at Target now since I’m there all too often. *wink*

I also got this little countertop from Ikea for under $30 and it fit PERFECTLY over my washer and dryer. I love having a countertop on the washer and dryer because it gives me more storage and a place to fold clothes or place my baskets and detergent while I’m loading and unloading.

I use a tray to corral everything so the top stays clean, which is ideal for a laundry room. I am absolutely in love with this space! Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions. Have you tackled your laundry room yet?

  6. Just curious, how wide is that room from the wall to the counter top? We are thinking of creating a long skinny laundry room on the back side of our garage and are somewhat limited on space, so I’m curious as to how much space you have here and what your overall feelings are about it. Thanks!

    1. Dang! I moved a few months ago so I can’t measure but it’s about 36″ or so from front of they washer/dryer to the wall. Just wide enough for a standard door. Hope that helps a little! Good luck on your project!
