Modern Ranch Reno: Master Bedroom Sofa

My master bedroom has been kind of a challenge. It’s a big room but it is a very long room. I did an epic accent wall on one side of the room and I really wanted the other side to be just as epic. I had room for a little sitting area and thats exactly what I wanted. I wanted a show stopper piece and I knew Joybird would have exactly what I was looking for.

The best thing about Joybird is that their pieces are custom made and you get to choose the style of furniture and then you get to select the the fabric and the stain of the legs if you are choosing something like a sofa. For the Master Bedroom sofa I choose the Holloway Sofa in the color Dunhill Turquoise. The color is a bit darker and matches the wall color even though since its right next to the window it is reading a bit more blue in pictures. This color and texture of the couch is just so good.

It mirrors the accent wall in my bedroom perfectly.

The texture and the soft and velvet feel of the fabric is so pretty and it adds the pop of color that my little sitting place needed.

The legs are finished in the coffee bean finish and I can honestly say that I never realized how different a sofa could be by the different color legs. I love that through Joybird I was able to pick out the color of stain I wanted for the legs.

I wanted this space to be a cozy little spot so I layered it with a white fur rug that I got from Hobby Lobby and this darling Round Jute Rug from Overstock.

I add some simple and classic white floating shelves that are from Ikea to help connect the sitting area with the rest of the bedroom.

I also hung this amazing prints from the very talents Brittany Gurr. Its her Joshua Tree Split Photos and I fell in love with it the moment and I saw it and I knew that I needed it somewhere in my house and this sitting space above this amazing sofa was the perfect spot for it. The frames are from Micheals and I did them in a 24×36 so that the photos would have a big impact.

Now my master bedroom feels way more complete and I really do love our new little sitting area. Be sure to check out the rest of my master bedroom makeover HERE and check out my pink Joybird Sofa in my office HERE.

  1. This couch is stunning, especially the color. You often see similar couches in a more dark, royal blue but this brighter tealish color adds a more dramatic pop of color to your home decor.
