DIY Triangle Design Faux Wallpaper - www.classyclutter.net

I’m super excited to be sharing this really easy triangle design faux wallpaper look tutorial with you today! This is my baby’s little nursery nook. We removed the closet doors to expand on the square footage of the room. My littles don’t have any clothes that need hanging except their church clothes, which I keep in my closet. Why not put the wasted space to good use! I decided it didn’t want it to look and feel like I closet, so it definitely needed decor.

First, I started by cutting LOTS of equilateral triangles using my Silhouette Studio Software. I found and equilateral triangle on a google search and used the Trace tool to create the custom shape. Then I duplicated the shape and arranged them to maximize the space and minimize the wasted vinyl. On the cut settings, I used the Vinyl preset and cut them out using my Silhouette CAMEO.

I started at the top and just started placing them corner to corner, row after row. Which leaves a super cool pattern all on its own. You could totally do 3-4 rows and use it as a decorative band/border on the wall or do the full wall like I did.

When I had the full wall cover, I removed random triangles to reveal larger white triangles and add a little interest to the design.

Finally, I added a little more decor and I think it totally disguises that my baby sleeps in the closet! ha!

This is such a genius way to add some spunk to a room without having to deal with wall paper! I love how you removed some of the triangles to create larger, white triangles to give the appearance more visual interest! Just love! What a lucky baby to have such an adorable room!

Do you have any suggestions on how to make these stick in the long term? I did a similar project and after 2 months, the vinyl pieces started peel off the wall. So frustrating given the time it took to put it up! Thanks for any insight!

      Hi Erin!

It all depends on the quality of the vinyl. I have had vinyl decals stay up for several years until I got tired of them. Email me if you need suggestions. classyclutter4@gmail.com
