Hello Classy Clutter readers! Jaime here from That’s My Letter
and so excited to be part of the Bake, Craft, Sew, Decorate Series this year. I blog about all things DIY related to building, painting and sewing. On my blog you can find tons of DIY friendly projects all posted in a tutorial style format so you too can build, paint and sew!
Today I’m sharing how to make this modern decorative tree with ornaments and I have the free plans for you to make one too.
Using a few simple pieces of scrap wood and circular dowels you can construct this tree with relative ease. Then hang your favorite ornaments and you have a beautiful holiday decoration.
I choose a plaid ribbon to complete the tree, tartan is quite trendy these days and I love the pop of color against the wood and white.
- miter saw
- 1x2x6 pine board
- 1×4 scrap wood @ 14″l
- 1/4″ circular wood dowels
- measuring tape & pencil
- 1 1/4″ finish nails
- wood glue
- 1 1/4″ wood screws
- 1/4″ spade bit
The complete step by step plans and tutorial are on my blog here.
Hope you enjoyed this decorating project. Looking for a few more holiday DECORATING ideas? Check out my projects below from left to right:
