Paper Flower Centerpiece

DIY Paper Flower Centerpiece 2

Wow! We must be on a gold and white kick right now! We are loving the color combo and loving florals right now too! I made this really fun centerpiece with only paper, glue and sticks! What!? Yep, that’s all you need. and a little paint if you want your sticks to be gold like mine.

Supplies:

Silhouette machine

Silhouette cutting mat

Gold glittered sticks from Wal-Mart in the holiday section (similar here)

Extra twigs from outside

Gold Spray Paint (optional)

White Cardstock

Brown Cardstock

Hot glue

Hot glue gun

Instructions:

For this centerpiece I found these glittered branches from Wal-Mart and I added some branches from my yard. I spray painted mine gold but you could totally leave them raw if you wanted. I arranged the twigs together and hot glued them where I needed them to stay.

Once I had them arranged, I used my Silhouette CAMEO and my cutting mat to cut out the flowers. These are the flowers I used.

I cut the flowers out using the cardstock and followed the instructions on the download for assembling the flowers. Finally, I used hot glue and a glue gun to attach the flowers to the branches.

This centerpiece is really inexpensive and has a gorgeous whimsical look. It is perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, a wedding, bridal showers, baby showers, Mother’s Day, Easter, etc! You could even keep it on your dining table year round!

  1. I’d dearly love to try this project, but I don’t have a silhouette machine. I also have a very rare neurological disease that’s like MS & recently found that I’ve inherited another that’s very like Parkinson’s disease (I must have been in another queue reading a book when they handed out the good health genes lol), but I have a friend who would possibly copy & trace the petals for me. I would have a try at cutting out the flower petals with small ‘nick proof’ scissors 🙂 …. Is there any way you could provide a link for the patterns for the flower petals please?
I have entered the Silhouette giveaway, so just in case I don’t win it 🙂 … I’d be grateful for a link … (I also want to try the faux wallpaper as I also rent) …

I actually had in mind to add bud lights to behind my bed & thought that these flowers would be just perfect to attach to the wire with the lights, then push the little lights through the holes … in the middle of the stamens. I thought I’d barely edge the flower petals with a gold sharpie & use green florists tape around the wire between the lights just to make it stand out, as opposed to attempting to hide something that I doubt would hide too easily … so might as well make a feature of it, don’t you think?

I have a very dear friend who I’m banking on to give me a little help, as my hands shake quite a bit these days & my fingers seem to get a bit ‘tangled up’ …. (No, I’m not that old in years, just in body because I’ve had this from a very young age … lol ) …. & she’s been like an angel on my shoulder since I met her about 5 months ago now. It seems to be so true, that when all other options have disappeared & we still need help, an angel appears in our world. I am so fortunate that mine has appeared now. In fact, I’ve had a few angels over the years during times of paralysis, etc. It’s just a case of keeping faith … & it’s amazing what can happen …. 🙂

Anyway, I’d be pleased if you could possibly help me with a pattern for the flowers.

    Cheers … & Happy Halloween …. Wendy. 🙂

    1. Hi Wendy!

Even if you don’t have a Silhouette machine, you can still use the free software and download the flowers. You can just print them and cut them out instead of running it through the machine! Also, love the idea of using the lights! xoxo
