The Ultimate Gourmet “Grilled Cheese” Panini
This post brought to you by Sargento Foods, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.
So, 99.9% of the time, you rarely have time around noon to stop and make a “real” lunch. Am I right? I knew it. Us too. With kids, a busy household, cleaning, work, family, etc., life can get crazy. Today, we’re going to show you how to take the break you deserve and eat a real lunch you will love. Sounds good eh?
Sargento new campaign is encouraging everyone to “take a real lunch” to refuel for the day and enjoy natural, fresh ingredients and recipes the way they were meant to be enjoyed. No more PB&J with the kids mkay?! We were challenged to create a “real lunch” recipe using fresh ingredients including Sargento‘s amazing sliced cheses.
Confession: We both love cheese! Who doesn’t? This Ultimate Gourmet Grilled Cheese is absolutely delish. It’s tried and true and you are going to LOVE it! Also, it’s really easy to make! Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
2 pieces French Bread
1 teaspoon of butter
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2-3 Tablespoons of Mayonaise
1 Tablespoon of Pesto
3 slices of Sargento Sliced Cheese (We used Sharp Cheddar, Colby-Jack and Baby Swiss – one of each) You could use any of your favorite cheeses but the key is to mix them.
2 Slices of Fresh Tomato
Directions:
First, take your slices of French Bread and butter one side of each piece. Sprinkle buttered slice with salt.
Next, mix your mayonaise and pesto in a small bowl.
Then, spread your Pesto-Mayo on the other side of your french bread slices.
Next, place your three slices of cheese and a slice or two of tomato.
Assemble your sandwich on a panini press or a skillet. We used a panini press (around $20 at the local grocery store) but you could use a skillet, no problem!
Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese is melted completely and your bread is toasted.
Doesn’t it look so yummy! Well, it is! You have got to try it!
Add some fresh fruit and you’ve got yourself a REAL lunch! Just FYI: This cheese combo is sooo good together! It would also be so yummy to use these 3 Sargento cheese melted over some tortilla chips for amazing nachos! The kids would love it too!
You can thank us later, *winks*
delicious…
kisses
