Red, White and Blueberry Fruit Skewers

Happy Labor Day weekend friends!

I am soooo excited that my hubby has home for the long weekend! We went to the Buffalo Wings Festival yesterday and we have been really excited to spend some time together with our family and friends on this long weekend!

I wanted to share this little patriotic treat to get you in the mood for this BBQ Weekend! You ARE having a BBQ aren’t you?? This is pretty much the last summer hurrah! Yay for Labor Day!
You may have seen these done before but I added a little something extra to make them extra yummy and a teensy bit less healthy! 😉
You’ll need:
Strawberries
Blueberries
Mini Marshmallows (or big ones if you’re really adventurous!)
1/4 cup of sugar
wooden skeweres (available at most grocery stores)
  1. First, wash and rinse your fruit. Let it dry or pat it dry with a paper towel.
  2. Next, cut up strawberries into halves or quarters. Mine were feeding lots of little ones so I cut mine into quarters to make them less of a choking hazard.
  3. Add sugar to your bowl of cut up strawberries and toss to coat them in a light coat of sugar. This makes them a little more dessert-y!
  4. Finally, put your fruit on the skewers! The marshmallows can get a bit sticky if you get them wet so try to keep your hands dry as much as possible!

This is seriously the best treat and you get a good serving of fruit! 🙂
Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day Weekend!!
