$5 DIY Curtains – So Simple!!!

Need quick, easy, cheap curtains? Problem solved!
This is by far the cheapest, easiest way I’ve found to make curtains!
Go to your local Wal-Mart or walmart.com and get one of their $5 Mainstay’s FLAT sheets! I use a twin and it is plenty for 2 curtain panels. It depends on the size of your window but twin sheets are typically plenty.
These come in tons of different colors btw! 🙂 I have two rooms with white and a room with blue in my house right now!
PS. I iron them when I take them out of the package because they get super creased.
Then, you will cut your sheet in half “hot dog” style so you end up with two pieces that resemble the size of your curtain panel.
Next, hem all unfinished sides of the panel. You can use hem tape if you don’t have a sewing machine or if you don’t feel like sewing!
Then, you’ll fold over the top of your panel to make about a 3-4 inch hem on the top. Again, you can use hem tape instead of sewing! This is where your curtain rod will feed through.  If you want to use the curtain clips, you can skip this step and once you’re done hemming, you clip them up and you’re done! Told ya, EASY!

You could even add embellishments to jazz them up a bit! 🙂

Have you done this yet?
