My take on Ruffled Burlap Curtains
I was head over heels in LOVE with Savannah’s burlap curtains so naturally, I had to do my own version. I used her tutorial really closely but I did my ruffles a little differently because I don’t have a ruffle foot for my machine. 🙁 Sad day! Although you can make your own girly ruffles without a ruffle foot.
Savannah found a great video on how to do it HERE!
I pleated my strip of white fabric about every inch or so and pinned it into place.
Like Savannah’s, I did 3 ruffles at the bottom of the burlap curtain panel.
I wanted to add one more ruffle at the top. I had everything pinned into place before I sewed anything down to make sure I liked the look of it.
Then I sewed it all down! So easy!
All hung up in the dining room!
I love how these type of ruffles hang.
**Update: I’ve removed the top ruffle to accommodate the my new valance above the window. I used the removed fabric to make bow tie backs!
So, that’s my take on it! If you have a ruffle foot or if you want to make them this way, Savannah’s version is absolutely gorgeous, or you can do the pleats if you like that look!
Don’t you just love them!? I DO! Thanks for the idea Savy!
Thanks for the tutorial this is exactly what I need for the bay window in our kitchen.
These are darling! I’m loving burlap lately! This would be so cute as a bed skirt for a little girls room!
