Master Bedroom redo

     Master

Here is the Before Picture of our Master Bedroom. Three of the walls were painted grey and the other wall was painted a dark brown. The square you see is where a window once was, the drywaller who did the work did not do a good job, but whatever our bed will cover most of it.

Here is the After:
I love the way our Master bedroom turned out. Painting the wall a lighter shade of yellow made the room feel much bigger. The Paint color I used for the yellow wall is Behr Wickerware….
I love this color its the PERFECT pale yellow.
I TOTALLY love love love my bed and mattress we got it right before we got married and I do believe it was the best buy we have ever made. We got it from Potato Barn in Gilbert, Az. I must say our mattress it AMAZING! The bedding I got from Dillard’s on Clearance and I so glad I went with a plain comforter. When we got married I got a printed comforter that was popular at the time and out dated a year later, so this time when I got bedding I went with something very plain so when I get sick of my room decor I can just recover the pillows and I will be set. The scroll thing above my bed was given to me by my friend when we got married it was gold so I painted it a oil rubbed bronze color. The seat at the end of the bed was a great yard sale find.
The stripe fabric on the back three pillows were my first fabric I found for my room. I found this fabric at fabric.com its called Sidewalk Stripe by Waverly and I got it over a year ago. I was on the search for everything in the room to go around that fabric. I made the pillow cases for the three large pillow by following This Awesome Pillow tutorial. The silver shams were a six dollar find at Tuesday Morning. The flower pillow on the far left is from Target. The one next to it I made using the same tutorial I used for the large pillows, then I added the Cream Lace Flower . The grey felt flower pillow was a gift from Mallory which she has an Awesome Tutorial  to make one yourself and the flower pillow on the far right is from Dillard’s.
This is a better picture of the two handmade Pillows. Thanks again Mallory!
These Lamps were a thrift store find and they were that nasty shiny gold. I then painted them yellow.
Then I spray painted them Krylon Metallic Aluminum in the matte finish because the yellow was getting lost against the yellow walls.
This is how it turned out with the lamp shade with the lace flower.
I made the curtain and they were very easy. I got This Vintage Suede Stripe Silver/Cream at fabric.com. The fabric was the perfect width for my windows. I just hemmed the bottom and then I sewed the top so that I could fit those cheap curtain rods through them and I was done. It was VERY easy. Anyone can do it.
This mirror is my in laws that we are “storing” for them. Why not put it to good use.
Once again here is our Master Bedroom!
What do you think?

  4. Your bedroom looks so relaxing. You were probably right to go with a solid bedspread. I bought one with big florals a year or so ago and grew so tired of it that I bought something more subdued too. That way I can switch out them out when I get bored.

Love the floral pillows, but everything looks so nice.

  5. Amazing job! Love the colors 🙂 I’m going to check out that fabric you used for the curtains!I think it’ll match my master bedroom!

  8. It looks great! I love the yellow/gray combo. I’m in the midst of trying to get the strength & energy to paint our room a light grey. We’ve got the yellow accents, too so maybe I’m biased about loving yours! The lamp looks GREAT!
